Sam's not getting rid of Vic. lol.

Or Mona for that matter.

Some of you simply don't get the journey.

And that's groovy.

So what's he doing? Are they sitting out the tour or are they being demoted for the tour as backups?

Sounds to me like he's going to play the VH tunes with Mike and a different guitarist. He'll do his solo stuff with his regular band.

That would make sense then. I wont go see it, even though seeing Mike would be cool. I just have had my own bad taste about Sammy the way some here have about Eddie. Unless the guitarist is someone i really, really like AND i see some clips showing a kickass show, i'll wait for the YouTubes. Even then, i'd only go for that set.

Several years ago there was something mentioned on Sammy's website about a band with Jerry Cantrell called Cardboard Vampyres(sp)*

Don't think Sammy was in it. Jerry has been to Cabo and i think Sammy was just plugging it on his site.

I still think it's gonna be that Edward fella.

*not sure of the correct spelling, but i believe vampires was spelled wrong on purpose.*

Really? Name one "superstar" guitar player who would be willing to go out and play VH covers. As you say, "There are tons"..... But they have to be "superstars". The only ones that come to my mind that are doing nothing are Jimi, Randy,Stevie, and Dime. May they all rest in peace.

I'm a huge Gilbert fan...one truly gifted player. I just dont see him doing it, although it would be great. That i would go see....no doubt. His solo work is really good, and the Racer X stuff is shred heaven.

I'd be downright shocked to find someone who could honestly say that they felt Vic was a great player, let alone that he did a good job covering EVH. That's just not the case. And being critical of a guitarist in a VH Forum is far from shocking! I've seen Eddie torn apart by guys who wouldnt know an E String from a G String on here.

Surprise surprise, you will not post any of your playing?????

I play guitar and I'm intermediate at best. The guys I know who are really good, never go around bragging about how good they are. It's the guys (like you) who say they kick ass that, well, usually aren't so good. Again, maybe you are that good, back it up dude, let's see it.

Vic is an excellent player, but you've probably never seen him live?

Playing for Sammy and playing Van Halen tunes is not an easy thing to do. If EVH had to play a set of ACDC tunes it would sound strange. You can't just replicate somebody's playing, even if you know it note for note.

I hate people who bash others when the only thing they are good at it criticising others. Hmmmmmmmm

I never said i kick ass, even if i do. lol Saying i could do a better job than a hack isnt bragging. I also stated that i'm sure Brett could do better too. To be honest, i have seen Vic live. He's mediocre at best. I never said he needed to replicate it as much as do it justice. His abomidable renditions of VH speak for themselves. And if you hate criticism you're at the wrong place. I dont have to back up anything to you or anyone for that matter. There are some here and on the old VHML that have heard/seen me play...but not because i felt the need to show off for someone that didnt like my opinion.
