Okay it's 7:30 AM here in Boston, and I haven't gone to sleep yet (long story) and I am flipping through the cable this morning, and what do I see.... Sammy Hagar on TV hosting talk soup!?!?!?!

And he has this retarded goatee!!!!!!!! Whats up with that?

What was Sammy doing?

Oh, showing the cover for Ten13 twice, mentioning his tour once, and having a bottle of Cabo Wabo on air no less than 5 times in a half hour, that's what he was doing.

Seriously though, he said a couple of funny things on there. Best one was after the clip for the X Show which was about... testing your knowledge of the male anatomy, if you get my drift.

Sammy's comment after it was something like:

For the record, I'm bigger than Eddie, bigger than Al... smaller than Mikey.

The burning question, however, is when was the last time he hasn't worn silly sunglasses for pictures or appearances? Hell, it's like he had those things surgically attached since he got his hair cut.

Far be it from me to bring this up again. Let me see, Sammy and Eddie haven't been in contact since Father's Day, 1996. Sam is about to release his third album. He has his own tequila, and his own label. He's having a new baby. Seems like the guy has as full a life as anyone. One question though?

Why the fuck does the guy mention Van Halen every opportunity that he gets? C'mon dog, I'm not saying that the guy doesn't have a sense of humor. But for a guy who is pretending to have moved on with his life, he sure does take every public opportunity to say something derogatory. I mean jesus christ, what is this guy promoting? His album, or the Van Halen situation. For a guy who's shit is supposedly bigger than Ed and Al's, it sure seems like he has penis envy.

One curious note. It's funny that he's still leaving communication open with Michael.

Picture this, Sammy, Eddie, Alex and Michael comparing penis size. On second thought, don't...

I absolutely agree with you, to get off point for a moment. As I've said before, and I'll say many times again...we really don't know the whole story, but it really does make you wonder about the story coming from the VH camp. In 1985, they pretty much had the media support. Dave really kind of left things along, while Ed and Al kept the fire burning on why Dave left. With Dave's ego, it sure as hell was easy to ram it down Dave's throat, and make it look like his fault. The Sammy issue just kind of made you go hmmm...was 1985 really what it seemed? But you still had to think that the VH side of it may have been right. Then came the MTV fiasco, and the interview bullshit that followed...then Cherone...now this Mitch Malloy dude. It really sheds some light on what the truth might be. It sure does shed a different life on what really may have happened. I think the only thing that you need to do, as my friend hain says all the time, is check out the MTV fiasco. Watch Ed, and that's all I have to say about that.

Now back to point. Sam says he's done with it. Why's he still bringing shit up? It's not like the guys life hasn't moved on...read my post above. Like I said, maybe a wee bit of pen...no...Van Halen envy?

How can Sammy move on when that's all anyone really wants to talk about? Every interview, every fan, everyone wants to know what the hell happened and what's going on right now.

I think he should of avoided it on 'Talk Soup' though.

Well dude, that's true enough. I mean no offense, but generally speaking, a tell-all interview talking about what's going on at 5150 would probably outsell his album, hell, most albums.

But you see, Sammy could say shit like, "You know, I'm done with that. I haven't been in the band in nearly five years." Besides. You can't tell me that Sammy's management and Sammy himself would have a say in some of the questions he's asked...especially in these radio interviews.

I will give you that the questions probably hound the dude. I just don't know why he gives them the ammo to ask him more questions. Seems like his bitterness is carrying with him a bit to long.

Face it, guys, those two will ALWAYS be connected to the Van Halen name no matter how many years go by. If you were friends with someone for 11 years, well hell, I'd consider them to be fair game.

Especially when it's just a silly joke on a silly show.

Let's face the facts dude. Sammy is about to release a new album. His wife is pregnant. He's got an awesome tequila out (yeah, a Dave fan who thinks the shit is awesome). The dude is 53 years old, and like I said, it appears that he has a full life. Here is a guy who has stated on several occasions that he's done with the whole thing. It's not like he doesn't have anything else to talk about at the moment.

Yet, we're hearing more about Van Halen from Hagar, then from the combination of other sources on the planet earth. You don't find that a bit odd?
