parts of the screen when out a couple of times.

Haven't had a chance to look at this yet, but here are the first three songs of the show. Props to Colink for hooking this up for everybody.

First off. I missed Mike big time. I hedged back and forth on getting tickets for this. Once I convinced myself this was more about road-trippin’ with some friends to catch (and drink) some nostalgia. I made peace with all of this.
I caught myself cringing / clinching / holding my breath before each solo for the first 2-3 songs. But it became quite clear this was not Ed of 2004, or even the NAMM presentation this past winter. Me and my pals soon relaxed and buckled in for the ride. It was phenomenal.
I was also reminded of some of things that I forgot I love about VH. Namely; the spontaneity in the playing, the singer / guitarist jam, the groove. You can’t fake the musical chemistry they all had, including Dave.
Ed’s solo was fine. It was fun and creative, but no longer the highlight of the show for me My analogy: I’ve seen Nolan Ryan pitch in his prime, I don’t care to watch him try to pitch fastballs in his 50’s.
I thought the set was great. I’ve heard people rag on Little Dreamer, I thought that was outstanding. I do agree that Jump is pretty anti-climactic as a closer.
Go to the show, Brett.
Missed the entire opening act waiting in line for warm-ass $7.25 Bud Light poured out of a can. Weak. My plan was to go get another beer during Pretty Woman / drum solo, but the line was long and moving at a snails pace. Skipped all that.
Biggest criticism; we went for breakfast/coffee/sober up/post game at the diner connected to the Best Western the morning after. Probably had the weakest attempt at hash browns I’ve ever tried.

Here is my review of the show.
I left for bar #1 with my wife around 4pm. We met up with 2 others and headed towards Rosemont. Got to Joe's around 6:40pm and they wouldn't let us in as it was too crowded. Sorry Hain and Co. So we jumped in a cab and shot over to Bar Bar Brewery. Had a few, then from there cabbed it to the All State. Walked right in, got a beer and the show started shortly after around 8:30pm I think.
The show started with EVH and into YRGM. Wolfgang is the man!! He plays great and sings great. He moved around CONSTANTLY. So he is loosening up w/every show. Alex was perfect. His solo pretty cool as usual.
Dave: He has never sang this good! The closest he ever came to this show was on the Diver Down Tour. He does a great job but I wonder what Wolfgang thinks of him riding that inflatable giant microphone with that sailors hat on!!
As far as Edward. He is back in a big way. His timing is there and he has the chops again folks. He is getting the tremelo picking up the neck up to his lightning speed. He did the tremelo runs in Cradle's Chorus over the keyboard line and it fit perfect., Im the One was spot on. Ed's guitar solo was great. I loved his solo because he played part of Girl Gone Bad which was really cool!!
HFT solo was pretty damn close to the record.
The whole show was great!! My ears just stopped ringing!!

Just haven't had time to post one yet. This week is kicking my ass. In addition to shows on Tuesday and Thursday nights, I was working 8:30am-10pm on Monday/Wednesday/Friday (I'm posting from work right now). Also working all weekend, so come on, give me a break! I enjoyed the show greatly and met up with Fontcow (Brian) and Jennifer before and after, and Bee1971 (Scott) too. Also ran into Jerel and a couple more friends from online at the show. Hain - sorry I missed you!

Yeah, I searched the phone number and found out that was you. I didn't have your number in my phone before, which is why I didn't call you before the show! As for the voicemail you left: good intention . . . not-so-good impression.
Speaking of Dave impersonators, I saw Mike, the lead singer of Fair Warning, handing out postcards for his band at the Billy Goat before the United Center show. The dude looks just like DLR. I've got pictures of the two of us from a Fair Warning show that I snuck into in 2001. I was 18 and definitely NOT old enough to be in the bar. I got in by pretending to be related to the singer from 5150, the other VH tribute band playing that night. Damn good times.
Going to see 5150 is what got me through my freshman year. Otherwise, I never would have survived that 6-year VH draught.
OK, this is supposed to be reviews only, so I'll shut up now.

Amazing.
I was right "above" Ed diagonally off to the side in the balcony. He really was on fire, and from the audio I have heard, he has been for the entire tour. I was really suprised at how good Dave was too, (and how much healthier he looked than in the 2003 era videos....)
I almost didn't notice the lack of Mike; they really stepped it up to cover the background vocals.
Definitely go see them on the 07-08 tour!
