I went both nights. Oct. 1 and Oct. 3. I can honestly say the first night was better. I don't know what it is about last night, it seemed as if they weren't as tight. Roth's vocals on a few songs were brutal. But I did have a great time! That's all that matters. I feel bad for Wolfie. Everybody talks shit on him because they're bitter about MA not being around. Wolfie is a Van Halen though. And Van Halen is a family affair. Hence the "3/4 original, 1/4 inevitable". Anyway, I did have an incredible time and I wish the band the best of luck for their upcoming shows. I would LOVE a DVD from either Philly show.

When he first started to say the line he kind of stuttered and then Dave said to the crowd "Hey the kid has a line" then Wolfie proceeded to say the line. He still has a voice of a 13 year old. I guess that may change in time or it may not.

Anyway, I was there monday and wednesday. Monday was awesome but last night was EVEN BETTER. As Dave said during the show 'Edward is playing like a motherfucker tonight'. Well. he was superb. I'll agree with Dave, lol.
Wolf moved around soo much more and smiled a lot. Kid was having a good time.
Alex is Alex. And that's an AWESOME thing to be. Played non-stop. Even during Ed's solo he sat behind the kit. Did so on Dave's solo part too.
David Lee sang GREAT despite what others here said.
My voice is shot again so I don't know how he does it. He keeps it in real good shape.
VAN HALEN RULES AND THEY ARE DEFINITELY BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
KEEP ROCKIN'!

This was my second show (10/3 philly). First night was in Charlotte. I loved charlotte but tonight the band was even better. Looser, yet...tighter! Dave sounded fantastic and I think the boots will prove it. Really great all around.
Also - Charlotte they ran like a death camp. Philly the security was MUCH cooler - people were smoking dope and taking photos, and as long as you weren't standing in the aisles nobody hassled you. I loved it!
Here are some pics from floor 1, row 17. Also, hey asshole with the "Where's Mike/Philly loves Dave" sign...real cute but you think people behind you like getting their view blocked? What a douche.
Some cool pics, I like eddie and wolf knee to knee at the end.

Agreed. Sign wasn't up much but what a lame ass move. Come one bitch nobody on the ramp or stage is going to see the stupid fucking thing anyway.
Anybody notice how much more limber Dave is on the 4th show than the 1st? He's getting air with his roundhouse kicks now.

Dude you got to call the arena, I don't know the layout of that place. Are you Real row 4 on the floor?! Well you got nothing to worry about. Call the arena and find out where 53 is. My guess is you are to the far right or left, which is still fine.
Anywhere on the floor in the first 20 rows is a killer seat. After that I'm not sure, I'd guess the possibility of someone blocking your view is greater.

Thank you, sir.
From my point of view, there were no "bad" seats down on the floor. You should fine.
Anyways, back on topic.

First of all, I can't stress this enough: If you are even thinking about going to see this tour, think no more. Just get tickets. You won't regret it. THIS IS VAN HALEN.
What an amazing show this was indeed. The whole thing totally exceeded my expectations. Dave's voice sounded the best that it ever fucking has. I've never heard him sing this well and consistently before. And what a showman the guy is. He brings so much to the whole performance visually that it's unbelievable. Did anybody else see him do those martial arts spinning kicks? The man is in GREAT shape and 52, and he has a set of washboard abs that you'd kill for.
Eddie was just smokin' last night. His playing was leaps and bounds beyond what we heard on the '04 tour. He's definitely not as clean of a player as he was back in the day, but I kind of like where his style is at right now. It was so great to see him looking happy and healthy on stage again.
What can you say about Alex? He's definitely one of the most underrated drummers out there. He was rock solid last night, as always. I liked the jazz backing track that he was playing to during the second half of his solo. Cool stuff.
I was really impressed with Wolfgang. I thought that he did a great job both as a solid bass player and as a backing vocalist. Major props to the kid for pulling it off. He's obviously very talented.
I know that some people might not like me for saying this, but here it goes anyway: I like Michael Anthony as much as the next guy. The guy's a class act all the way. But quite honestly, I really didn't miss him at all last night, and I certainly didn't miss his "bass solo." And as far as the background vocals were concerned, I thought they were great. I'm actually kind of glad that Wolfie is in the band now. He adds something new and fresh.
In conclusion, if you're going to miss this tour simply because of the fact that Michael Anthony isn't there, then you're insane.

Hey,
I was at the Monday Show (Sec 224) and Wed Show (Sec 1, Row 13 - right on the ramp). Both shows were great. There were some problems on Wed - it looked like Ed could not hear the Monitor for the first third of the show. He missed several backup vocal spots and once or twice missed his mark on the guitar. I thought that Monday's Romeo Delight was the best I ever heard VH, but they were really sloppy on Wed (No fault of Ed's - you could tell he could not hear where to come in).
Wolfie is really good. I spent several songs watching him and he plays well and sings well. He is not MA, but for a 16 year old kid who looks like Josh from Drake and Josh on Nick - he did really well.
I have seen VH over 30 times and I love both Sammy and Dave - I think that this tour blows all others away.
Dave was good. He was not drinking at all. You could tell that he was really focused on his singing - something he was never focused on back in the day. His schtick was not that over the top - except for riding the microphone and the ejaculating water bottle.
Back in 94 I thought to myself that maybe that was the last time I would ever see VH. I thought the same thing at the end of last nights show. I hope I am wrong.
