We rolled into Northeast Pa. around 2:00 p.m. and we were still talking about the show when my friend Jim dropped me off. All I can say is " Thank You" Wolfgang. I say that because he, his dad and Uncle Alex all high fived and hugged towards the end of the show on the drum riser. RWTD and Atomic Punk blew me away. After listening to the demo version of RWTD this past weekend they nailed it down last night. I just kept thinking to myself that this was a "stellar" show. My friend Jim had never seen them and had a great time. My friend Lou and I saw then in 80 right across the parking lot in the Spectrum. When we walking out of the arena Lou leaned in and said, now that's Van Halen. I have enjoyed all incarnations of VH. That being said, I thought the 04 show I attended didn't have the vibe of last night's show. The only thing about Dave was the inflatable mic, you can loose that. Also Ed during the "Curly" spin onstage was also a treat. It was good to see him having fun. Wolfgang is getting his sea legs. I'm sure by the end of this tour he'll be more comfortable, and Uncle Al, Rock Solid. It was a memorable evening with VH and my friends. Man, you folks attending upcoming shows are in for a treat!! I hope someones got a boot of this show, please let us know, I would love to get one.

This was my first concert ever! I'm so impressed with the way everything happened. Where I was sitting (sec 112, row 16) everything was perfect. Except for this asshole behind us who was completely hammered and fell face first into his own seat. . Anyway, there was one point in the beginning of the show after about the 3rd song when the house lights came on and the place just kept cheering and cheering. Then Dave walked over to Eddie and they hugged. Great moment. There was also a couple laughs provided by Roth. From the "Have you seen Wolfie's grades?" to "That's what the bumper sticker should say...'Van Halen: I Can Barely See The Road'". Did anyone else notice the yellow and black guitar said "Philly" on it? Or Eddie's frankenstein sneakers? Anyway, if there is a bootleg of this show, PLEASE forward it to me. If not, will someone please record the Wednesday show? I'll be attending that one as well. Thanks guys!

Incredible show!
Saw them on their first national tour in 1977 opening up for Black Sabbath at the old Spectrum. I then saw them about 5 times between 78 and 82.
Other than that first show, this was easily the best show. Actually, I think it was even better than that first show due to the fact that they played much longer and had a much bigger catalog to choose from.
Eddie looks great and was spot on all night. We were on Eddie's side of the stage about 20 rows up. Perfect view of him.
I had heard that Dave had actually been "talking" through songs in the last couple of solo tours. Not the case last night. Obviously the scream isn't there anymore, but he still sounded great.
Alex never ages. His drumming is still the nuclear assault it has always been.
Wolfie was good. I actually like his bass playing style better than MA. His vocals were not of MA caliber, but they were fine, better than I expected. The best part is that he doesn't take a bass solo. I always found MA's bass solo to be the lowlight of VH shows.
The show was even better because I went with the same guy who wnet to that first 1977 show with me back in high school. We had been out of touch for more than 25 years and we had recently run into each other. What better way to have a reunion. We talked about the 77 show and other concerts from the old days on the way down.
If you have the time and money, by all means go see them!
BTW-only negatives are "Jump" and "I'll wait". Could definitely substitute some other songs for them.

Cant add too much to what's already been said...except a hearty "fuck you" to the asshole in front of me who gave me dirty looks for singing along and then proceeded to shout the whole show. That moisture you felt on your back when you got home came from my nose!
Other than that....the MIGHTY VH IS BACK!!!
And to Jeff...I hope Justin had a BLAST!!!

Been meaning to post this since opening night, but has anyone posted that Wolfie has what appears to bicycle reflector on the back of his bass? I guess it is a poke at his age.

it is just like his dads. ed had had reflectors on the back of frankenstien for years. just another van halen trademark. nothing to do with his age.

Ed had or has those on the Frankie and the replica as well. That's nothing new.

another cool moment that i forgot about until today was ( if forget which song it was..Panama maybe?) when Dave did the motorcycle throttle rev up into the mic, then Eddie would mimic it...then finally Ed had a wicked deep low E rev up and Dave was like...I cant fuckin beat that....that was classic..
The interaction that this band had was like the last 23 years never happened, they just seem like old friends again. Anyone will attest that each show they see ( by ANY band) will be the best show they've ever seen. I do this all the time, only because its the most recent in the brain's memory but the combination of this lineup, the CVH song catalog and my 23 year wait just set the bar for this concert and I can honestly say they exceeded my expectations.
Do not miss this one people!!! I'll be there again tomorrow..10th row Eddies side on the floor by the ramp..

true but you had a very drunk Eddie in 04 too..i dont think the on stage actions of the 04 shows compare to last night - he honestly looked and seemed very happy. I hope this lineup is here to stay...
