Nope, I had a Great time!! Had real fans around me was able to talk with people who saw the guys in 79 and had awsome lower level seats. My nephew was blown away by seeing these guys!! He went to school with an awsome story to tell wearing his Van Halen Shirt he got at the show!!

Greensboro, 2007: After all the vinyl, cassettes, cd's and bootlegs we've been through, finally seeing and hearing the background music we jacked up the moment our parents left town , reminded us why, at 41 and 45, my sister and I will always go back for more.

Little Guitars brought me about two feet off the ground, where I remained until about 6:30 this morning.

I was blown away by Dave's voice and persona. I was again reminded why we fell for them in the first place. The ability to take old standards and create new classics. The intro to "Ice Cream Man" gave me the chills and I loved the way he seasoned the vocals with "Magic Bus"and a couple of other non VH songs.

Funny, we did not miss the smell of pot, cigs and stumbling drunks in the arena.
The enjoyment of Brilliance and being a part of Rock and Roll history has its own"beautiful buzz"*..with no hangover, unless you count temporary deafness.

MGM Grand? New Year's Weekend in Vegas would be a dream come true.

* beautiful buzz courtesy of The Stones' "Loving Cup"

...And while the Jester was looking down, DLR stole his thorny crown!
satisfied??

Well there are still plenty of good seats for Indy.

I can’t stop thinking about this show on Saturday night in Greensboro NC. By far the best show I have seen since my first rock concert 2/11/84 VH in Knoxville Ten, if not even better. Charlotte NC was a great show to but nothing like Saturday night in Greensboro NC. I really would like to see them add more shows in the south the people down there are so nice & kind. I got tickets for Indy, but I would give them up in a heart beat to see another show down in Dixie. Preferably some where in Alabama there is some sweat southern angels in that place too, but Carolina girls are the best in the world. Not to knock the ladies here in L-Ville but there is some thing about the whole attitude the further you roll down south. Light, dark it don’t matter it all about the attitude.

Anyway back to the show it was magical night the music was just right. The venue was as close to prefect as you can get, I loved it. They played their hearts out for us they where getting tired by the end of the show, but they still keep on giving their all. I would have preferred they played something else other than I’ll wait, and jump, but those where some of the successful tunes from the DLR era. It would have been great to hear Women in love, Could this be magic, or the full bug, instead of the other two, and a close with Happy Trails would have been real nice. Other than that it was close enough to perfect to for me.

Well it is time to float back down to the real world, can’t stay on cloud nine forever, but it was sure a nice while it lasted. God I love this country.

Well..now that my head is clearing Ill give you my 2 cents worth.I bit the bullet and got a hold of 2 VIP tics row 6 seats 1 and 2 middle section. I got the backstage party and the tour.It was worth every cent. The band was doing sound check when we came back to the party room.There was an open bar and nice buffet. My group was first to take the tour saw everything and out pops Diamond Dave he shook hands and told him I had been waiting for this night since 1984...he said god bless you Bro and enjoy the show. Did not see the Vanhalens on my tour but the second group said they saw Wolf. The music was awesome Ed looked good and except for Mike and the money shot over the drums it was 1978 for me all again. Ill be in DC Nov1 in the upper deck.

...haven't had a chance to post until now, sorry if some of this is being repeated...WHAT A KILLER SHOW (9.5 out of 10)...this was the best concert I've ever been to (and I've seen quite a few)...having never seen VH pror to '84, it was basically new live material I was hearing...Ed's playing - spot on...Big Al - crushing...Dave - reclamimed his throne as the King of Frontmen (no disrespect to Sammy, I still dig him)...Wolfie - talented (no suprise) and 'Good Enough' on stage - He'll loosen up with time. Stage setup was awesome, chemistry was definately there (no faking)....Sound was Great !!!

PLUSES
* Romeo Delight - next to Unchained, "THE mighty VH anthem".
* Atomic Punk was brutal
* Little Dreamer was a good fit....
* Little guitars rocked....
* Hot For Teacher....be honest - you didn't think Al could still do that
one, either - WRONG!...
MINUSES
* Lose the gigantic mic, Dave
* Ed had a little technical issue during his solo (it was still great)
* Predictable encore (Jump)

......AND FINALLY, I ENJOYED BEING IN THE COMPANY OF THE
GREATEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO HELPED ME TAKE OVER
GREEENSBORO FOR HALF A DAY - THE MIGHTY FANS OF VH...
SEE YOU NEXT TIME..........
