Of all the shit that's gone on with these guys over the years, a postponed show is gonna be the straw that breaks the camels back ?

As was posted earlier, the most probable reason for the shows being postponed is ticket sales. I don't have any data to back that up...just a hunch. Take into consideration:
1) The tickets are pretty pricey and money's getting tight for a lot of people right now.
2) The band's already played most of the major markets around the country...twice in some venues.
3) The average ticket buyer seems to be a bit older than the 20's group, which means more financial commitments.
Personally, I'm a huge fan and have been since the 70's. Caught the band when they came here in January and was glad I went. But...I'm not sure I'd spend that much to go a second time, especially since it's the same show (same setlist, etc.) everywhere they play.
It sounds like it's been a hugely successful tour, but for all of the above reasons, it might not be successful enough to blanket the country twice. Just a thought.

It's funny, everytime I checked for tickets for the Ft. Lauderdale 2/20 show, I came up with something pretty good on the lower level until I eventually snagged floor seats a week before the show. I was a little concerned that show may be canceled because it didn't appear tickets were selling very well. Yet, the show went on and the place was pretty packed after all.
Who knows how well these two shows were selling, although I know a few people who were planning on going to the Atlanta show who are very disappointed right now.

Try reading posts #65, and #73. Ever heard the line, we judge a book by it's cover and read what we want, between selected lines?
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah is all I hear when you speak.

I have to say, a last-minute cancelation would really piss me off, especially if I had to drive a ways to get there. If the reason really was low ticket sales, you'd think management would've known far enough in advance to give people at least a couple of days' notice.

It's only postponed not cancelled. Think about the last time you've had a cold, flu, toothache or some kind of virus over the last few months, probably at least once. Out of the four guys, I'm sure one is sick.
It's upsetting that plans get changed, but shit happens. Chill.

I don't know if any of you went to www.van-halen.com web site yesterday. If you did you would have noticed that they posted the New dates as Las vegas, oakland and Sacromento with tickets going on sale for the Oak and Sac show on 3-1-08. If you go their now you will see that the Oak and Sac shows are not listed. (Thats Weird). Addtionally, If you go to ticket master that have the sac show and a show for winnipeg in may. So who knows what is going on. I would not be surpriced if some ass at the web site is doing this to fukc with us. Well take a look at it your self www.van-halen.com[/url] and go to ticketmaster.com. Have fun.

I saw this yesterday, the new listings and now they are gone. Hmmm, who knows!
I do know this:
I talked to the Cville police chief this morning at the gym and he ask ME why the concert was canceled and had I heard anything. He knows this VH thing I have. So, there was no "public " fight. the band members were not out in public here in town, like I said that would spread like mono in a middle school, cville is small. And ANY bar fight would have come to his attention. He did watch the rigs come in however and the crew was in town.... he found it very odd that he never got word the band was in town. He has many officers that work private security for such events and they look forward to big concerts for this reason, they get to mingle just a bit usually. Apparently Larry the cable Guy was a lot of fun (not that he is a huge chick magnet that needs protection from the likes of me) and went out with a few of the guys for beers.
Oh well, i give up...I'm over it, I'll wait til they reschedule or I have to get my $$ back. I would love to really know why, but I think I'll live if it remains a mystery

good work. I don't think we will get the true answer. I still hope its the flu. But it could be that Wolf is pissed off at ed and val for the book thats out and val doing oprah on monday. Spilling the dirty laundry. Remember he's a kid and might be embarressed with all the BS coming out in the book.

Ummm. Wolfie isn't holding up this tour.
Wolfie says, "Jump!" and Dave says,"I bet you can only jump 2 feet"
Dave wouldn't let Wolfie hold this tour up.

Oh yeah, i guarantee thats what it is. They just have not filled enough seats. Just like i said with the St. Louis show. They rescheduled for a later date to sell more tickets. And St. Louis tickets have been on sale for about 5 months and they still are not sold out. So these other 2 shows were not selling quickly. Don't worry about it! They're still gonna Fuckin' rock em' both! Just a different night! Peace out all my VAN HALEN FREAKS.

I just got back from Rapture, the 'ground zero' of it all. The bartender told us that the band WAS NOT there, but the crew was and said Wolf and Ed got in a fight...That seems to be the going theory in C-ville.

If that's true, good for him ! It's about time somebody named Van Halen stood up to him ! I bet Wolfie kicks him out of his band !
