Wow, I live less than a mile from that place, just right down the road. They do handle high profile celebs but do not normally cut them any slack. Its a nice place, with good people running it. If he is there, he's in good hands and they are very private. They also normally try and have the family there for a few days when treatmtent starts.

First off, good for Wolfgang....
Reminds me of the last time I had to be around my mother while she was drunk and physically fighting with my father over something stupid. I finally had enough of the bullshit after 20 years of it and freaked out. I flipped over the kitchen table, grabbed them both by their wrists and threw them on the living room couch.
I told them I loved them both but the next time I saw either or them drinking in front of me or screaming at each other, I was going to kill them both with the biggest steak knife I could find, and would spend the rest of my life in prison, because it would be better than being around them. I then went out side and kicked over their mailbox, picked it up and smashed it on the driveway... When I came back in, they were both in tears and apologized to me... I think only then did the realize what their childish bullshit had done to me over the years... I wasn't lifting weights 3 hours a day because I was a happy, well-adjusted college junior.
A little drastic, yes... But alcoholics are extremely selfish people and DO NOT realize what they put others through because of their weakness and inability to stay away from the shit. From that point on, I've had a great relationship with both parents. Maybe this is what Ed needed... I feel for Wolfgang... It's one thing to see a parent act like a fucking child... It's another to see them act like a child, and still have everybody kissing their ass 24/7...
It's funny how everyone who had the audacity to even suggest that lifelong alcoholic Eddie Van Halen may have had a relapse is "not a true fan".
The undying devotion and hero-worship of this guy really amazes me sometimes... Edward Van Halen is just a great rock guitar player with problems like everybody else. His body does not levitate out of bed in the morning, he crawls out like the rest of us... Smart money says he takes a look at his shit before he flushes too.
~Peace

Well if this is true (although I still don't really trust the NE), it's unfortunate for Ed and Wolf. I could care less about he concerts. Get right with your son, dude.
By, the way, I may miss Mike, but Wolf is the shit.

Yeah, agree. I'm looking forward to Wolf making contributions on the music scene in the future. I'm assuming he has some sense of creativity to write and record music like his Dad has (had?). I think he's got a future in music. It just remains to be seen how, when, and where.

Yeah, that too (sorry about that; been going between threads) and Wolf has a good head on this shoulders and looks like he won't give up the fight for his Dad.

Seems Wolf has a good head on his shoulders. Glad he's trying to keep dad on track!

They do, so I'm just gonna paste again, rather than come up with a new thought...lol...
Loveevhsince79 suggested this theory last week... that Wolfie may have stepped in, and I thought it made perfect sense and this story gives it more credence.
I had the same fights with my Dad as a teen.
He has some leverage with his Dad right now, and he's inclined to use it. Most children would when they are watching a parent engage in a form of destructive behavior.
If true and like I said I'm inclined to believe it...Good job Wolf

My mother would smash dinner plates instead of guitars though....
It made childhood a real blast...

Bullshit! Post whatever you want. We have sure as hell read worse revelations around here. You can't even come close to being as dysfunctional as the very band this site was created for.

I hear you...my family had ongoing battles with my Dad as I was growing up. My Dad wasn't a violent drinker fortunately, but he was a heavy drinker, and had to polish off a 12 pack or more pretty much every night, the flying dinner plates were provided by my always emotional mom. Sometimes she was totally justified, other times she was the one over the top, with a hair trigger.
I hope you have found some peace as an adult. For me it was great when I was able to get out of that household, and start my own life.
So like you said "Peace bro"
