Not good if true. It's gotta be something out of their hands like an illness.

They have canceled a few at short notice because of Jagger's voice, and Ronnie Wood blew out his knee at one show too I think. They pissed off a lot of fans last tour when the canceled Atlantic City hours before the show but made it for the Scorsese reshoot at the Beacon in NYC a couple of days later - something like that.

At least they were good enough to give a reason. Yes, it may have been a BS reason, but c'mon....Whatever, why should we expect Ed and Al Van Halen to start treating their fans like they give a damn about them at this point! Fu%& this band, I was considering taking in a third show in Grand Rapids....not a chance now.

They didn't give an official explanation for the Atlantic City/Beacon situation that I know of, it was just the obvious conclusion.
Edit: Also AC was the kind of show where lots of people had flown in/travelled etc. I don't remember the exact cancellation time but it was definitely in the afternoon - a lot of people arrived there with no idea.

Good God. All I can say is it has to be great to be a rock star. Piss all over your fans, and at least 80% of them will excuse it somehow. They need a long weekend?.....from playing music?? Wow!

I know the truth, it's just too bad you don't. The truth is, their fans, who pay a ton of money to see them, give them the extravagant rock star lives they live, deserve at the very least an explanation. The truth is this band has a history of lying their asses off. How hard would it be for them to tell the truth once in a whlie....seeing as it has never happened, I would imagine pretty flippin hard.
You're right we should give them the benefit of the doubt. We are only talking about a band that has lied about pretty much everything, including their ages, since their first album came out. Hold your breath mate, see what happens first, VH tells the truth or you give in.
Like I said, it must be great to be a rock star. Piss on your fans, lie to them for 30 years and they still attack anybody who has a problem with it. Dude, all I can say is I wish you were a fan of mine, buying my albums.....obviously it wouldn't take much to make you happy.

So yeah, given RECENT history, it's pretty silly for everyone to start insisting the band is breaking up because of another postponment or two.

It's a crazy day they postpone 2 shows and schedule 3 new one (Sacramento 4-25-08,winnipeg 5-03-08 and Oakland in April as well. If they were done they would not post new shows on the same day. Its a flu or injury.

I agree. But, how hard would it be to just let their fans know what the hell is going on? Issue a statement. Same old BS from the VH bros. They should have called the band *Lies and Arrogance*.

This F'ing band....(shakes head, walks out of room)!

Yes. The Police postponed a November at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Tickets for the rescheduled show (July 29) go on sale Monday. They also postponed two shows on the European leg in October.

The cancellation sucks and I will not dispute it, shit happens. Sammy had to cancel in Dallas on the RHRN tour (or was it FUCK) due to illness. I was going to the Diverdown show in NJ back in 1982 and it got cancelled because Ed hurt his hand punching a wall. I got an excuse but who cares? I was bummed I had to wait. I am sure they could give a BS excuse and say someone was sick or flying delays from weather, still cancelled and it sucks...
We all have choices to make, seems some cannot just speak their peace and move on with life. They chose to be whining, bitter, negative, nit picking, complaining nags and just keep wasting time on something they only can complain about (kind of like my ex wife).
Yeah I am one of the 80% that hangs in there. VH has given everything I have paid for and more so I'll stay a fan. It's only a rock band (that I love and have been a fan over 2/3 of my life). I am not going sweat over drama and soap opera speculations, it is what it is and there are many other things in life that are more important I can complain about (and move on after I complain).

Correct me if I'm wrong, and we all know who we're dealing with here, but most bands DO give some type of explanation when they cancel or postpone, right!?! Ozzy's canceled gigs because he lost his voice, bands cancel because of family related biz all the time. Canceling and NOT giving an immediate explanation when your fans are shelling out mucho $$$ in THIS economy is fucked up. Sorry...I LOVE VH like you guys all do, but if you're a no call no show at work, what happens?!? These guys and their PR anymore is just RIDICULOUS. And yeah, I have plane tix to fly up to Atlantic City to take my oldest daughter to see them at the end of March. Let's hope the rest of the tour isn't canceled.
