What Really Happened on the Last Night of the 2004 Tour?

I know this was discussed at some length before the hack. I never really got the real deal. I know Ed was pissed, right? He stopped playing a good part of the end on "Dreams" and smashed his guitar. There was also a whip cream fight of some sort?...

Who was there?
Who knows the real story..Was it just in anger of ending it with Peavy?
Any pics of any of this?

Had a clip of it over at G101, and from what I could tell it was just a bunch of over blown hype, which is nothing new at the Links by the way.

I even asked Ed's tech about the alleged blow up, and he stressed that whatever it was, it wasn't due to any technical difficulties or anything like that. The fact there was a smashed up EVH Charvel with pics of Ed smiling with the guitar in pieces up on ebay, shows me that it was all just a goof. I'll see if I can find those pics for ya.

Depending on who's take, it sounds like possibly tensions came to a head that night, not to mention "if" Ed is in as bad shape as we hear, I am sure that didn't help matters, but only time will tell.. Sucka, can you make out what Ed says in the mike after he totals his guitar?

I had read an article about the last night that the 5 star package people said when asked if any pranks were gonna go down, they said "You don't want to be in the bathroom during Right Now." Didn't he break a guitar during right now?
Pete Townsend broke guitars all of the time. It's just the media looking for any sign of VH to break up again. I've seen that pic of Ed with the broken guitar. Mike has a pic of him ripping the strings off of a bass. If something was seriously wrong, I think we would of found out by now.

I forget who is was but they were backstage.....maybe it was Sams nephue. He said something to the affect that Ed was hammered and picking fights with everyone that was in staggering distance. He also mentioned something about Ed rubbing lemons into his eye's.

I think I remember reading that interview you did with Ed's tech. Wasn't he the guy that's been a tech for several other big names?

Yeah, Eddie screamed at everyone backstage and told Sammy he loves him and then would curse him out and even went after Mike and Mike went back at him...and he was yelling about the writing all over his body and Sammy tuned to his nephew with a look like "see what I have to put up with"...

And at dinner that night with Mike and 9on10scale Sammy said if that fucker doesn't get 3 months of therapy I'm not going back...

9 posted the comment below in another thread. If anyone is going to the Tahoe show, please look him up and maybe see what he says.

Have been doing a whole lot of nothing. Spoke with Sammy last week and nothing new. Has not spoken much to the brothers. He will be doing his little tour coming up. I will be in Tahoe so anyone going look me up and say hello. When I have good news you all will be the first to know.
so what is the latest and greatest rumor out these days?

Haven't seen it in awhile, but I don't remember being able to make out what he's saying. He's always mumbled into the mic though, so that's nothing new.

On the chat with Ed's tech, it said only the trem and something else was broken off of the green peavy, and I may be no guitar expert but that's not totaled. It seems like a joke kind of to me if it took that little damage.

Ed smashed his guitar (ala Townsend) at the end of Right Now. Since Ed hasn't said anything about it, no one knows exactly. Theories range from Ed being drunk, mad at someone in the band, mad at someone else back stage, mad at Peavey (it would later be revealed that Ed fired Peavey), or it just being a standard last night of the tour prank.

Believe what you want to believe.

Remember this though. They came back out and played the usual 3 encores after this incident.
