Default Passenger Bites Man, Jumps From Moving Plane

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Authorities in Fort Lauderdale said an airline passenger bit another passenger and then jumped off a moving plane as it taxied at the city's airport.

The Broward County sheriff's office said the passenger started yelling to get off a Continental Airlines flight that had been delayed for about 30 minutes.

Authorities said he ran to the front of the plane and banged on windows and the cockpit door before passengers and crew members tried to restrain him. Another passenger was bitten.

When the pilot depressurized the cabin, the man opened a door, jumped to the tarmac and ran toward the terminal. Deputies said they zapped him with a stun gun after he resisted arrest.

Troy Rigby, 28, of Pompano Beach, Fla., faces several charges.

The plane was to fly from Fort Lauderdale to Newark, N.J., with 116 passengers and five crew members. It was rescheduled for later Monday.

This story reminds me of a time I went on a training trip to Foxwoods w/my boss and co-workers. We were taking off from Atlanta when I smelled burning wires. That wasn't good for sure. The captain gets on the intercomm giving us some b.s. reason why we had to turn around and that we would be sitting on the tarmac for a few minutes. After landing, my boss' wife starts going nuts. At one point, she was running up and down the aisle saying "Let me off this plane!" Funny, but strange-and I thought I had a bad fear of flying.

I think the problem is we're all on the wrong drugs. I read that
something like one out of two people is on some kind of pharmaceutical
something or other. Maybe just another satisfied customer and we're just
seeing the tip of the pathological tweakberg.

If this were written into a novel, it would be renounced as unrealistic. How funny is that?
