SUPREMELY disappointed here, but...the Monday show in Atlanta has been postponed as well, so SOMETHING is going on with band..just hope that it's nothing major!

How about weather and a big ass case of flu?

This is going to sound terrible, hateful even evil, but I feel better that c'ville wasn't the only show canceled - misery loves company ya know....I'm going to duck now.

I disagree about the poster who feels better that they cancelled two shows...
One could have been a weather factor. Combine that with the one scheduled for 3 nights later sounds much more ominous.

While the weather at this point isn't really that bad there is supposedly a weather advisory for the area until 10 pm tonight from what my parents tell me who live in the area. If UVA goes ahead with a show while there is a winter advisory in place they probably open themselves up to some form of liability whether or not the weather is actually that bad.

Since the VH equipment is either in Charlottesville or the vicinity by now, they may be in a holding pattern waiting on the weather. That may explain the cancellation of the Atlanta show on Sunday because if the weather clears up, Van Halen could potentially re-schedule for tomorrow or Sunday and then re-schedule the Atlanta show for next week sometime giving them time to get things back on track for the next show in Dallas on March 3rd.

While I'm not going to get my hopes up, it does look like the possibility exists for them to re-schedule and get things back on track from a logistics standpoint.

GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to Dallas Sunday morning, PLEASE don't let it be rescheduled for Sun,Mon, Tues nights....

Had nothing better to do today (took the day off), so my buddy & I went by the arena box office to see if they had any more info on the postponement. The gear/trucks were all there apparently, they were just never unpacked. The woman at the counter would absolutely not discuss the issue, other than to say it was a "management" issue. Take it for what it's worth...

Well you saved me a trip I was going to cruise by after I went to World Market.

Now, it has become a mystery!!!!!! I hate that! Did you threaten said women with a tasser by any chance? JK,

My husband just got a new patient yesterday and he is a senior person over at JPJ, maybe he could casually ask when he calls with labs???? (he'd never do it, never mind!)

Well, if the rigs are still at the arena then all hope is not lost. I'll sit here in Richmond and think happy thoughts. Perhaps I'll think of baby seals.

While I'm busy doing that, VHwahoo and EVHgirl need to barricade the exit to the arena's loading dock.

More important than the gear being on site is if the band members are there.

The trucks were all in the parking deck so we didn't see them, but the woman at the box office counter said that they were there. We also looked through the front doors into the arena and saw nothing but the scoreboard (there was a woman's basketball game the night before). I'd say there is a VERY slim possibility that the show could be re-scheduled for tomorrow night, but if not then it'll probably be April-May before another compatible date can be found. My hunch is that there was an illness of some sort, it is flu season after all....

I couldn't resist, drove by, very slowly, very stalker-like. Had my 9 yr old with me, she's like "Mom is Eddie in there"? Pretty funny.

I actually drove into the deck, all the way down, nothing! Then drove behind by the loading bays, nothing (no security or anything - actually drove around the guard arms, yes I am bold). I'm guessing they were either in the inside parking bay (but that's soooo much to put in there *rigs and 6 buses - no way) or the rigs are gone and on the way to TX (which is freakin where I'm going on Sunday but coming home on Tuesday dammit!) and the buses just went straight to ...where ever, Valerie has a book signing in Dallas on the 3rd so she'll be with them at the concert as well.

Not looking good for a quick reschedule y'all. I'm disappointed beyond words. Just hopeful now they'll come back this way.

The woman at the box office told us we were free to walk down and check it out if we could get past security, but being that it was freezing out we thought the better of it. You're right though, they may have already left. Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick reschedule, but comparing the band and arena schedules doesn't make me optimistic.
