2 pretty good games to kick it off. Probably watched more of the Leafs/Habs.

I really thought the Leafs were going to win that game. Well untill the Habs tied it up. Still good effort from both teams.

CAPS offence looked real good. Semin is going to have a great year if he can stay away from the injuries. #8 was #8, sick stuff.....

+++

The Flames played well in the throwback. I love the 80s!!! I was waiting for Roberts, JoeyN, Otto, Al Mac to come skating out.

Still both teams had the offence going.

++++++

As for the Sharks? That was pretty lackluster. Nabokov and the D didn't look good.

Marleau and JoeP came to play.

Heatley was a nice -3.

The 3rd period the Sharks woke up and out played the Avs (19 shots to 1) but Anderson stopped them all. Go figure?

Hitchcock, who is usually a realist about his team, said on his radio show that the national media are SERIOUSLY underestimating this team with their projections. God I hope so.

Here's what's posted on the game day thread on HFBoards.

Vinny Prospal - Brandon Dubinsky - Marian Gaborik
Chris Higgins - Chris Drury - Ryan Callahan
Enver Lisin - Artem Anisimov - Ales Kotalik
Donald Brashear - Brian Boyle - Aaron Voros

Marc Staal - Dan Girardi
Michael Del Zotto - Michal Rozsival
Wade Redden - Matt Gilroy

Henrik Lundqvist
Steve Valliquette

Avery has been sidelined with a sprained knee, so he may or may not be ready to go for tonight. Voros probably gets scratched if Avery plays.

Del Zotto, Gilroy, and Anisimov are all rookies, and Prospal, Gaborik, Higgins, Lisin, Kotalik, Brashear, and Boyle all make their Ranger debuts tonight. 1/2 the skaters are new. I have no idea what to expect.

The Rangers had signed Alexei Semenov yesterday as a 7th defenseman after a tryout. Today, he turned down the deal. Not a huge loss, but word is his wife was a major factor in turning down the deal. Fuckin' broads. It sucks because the Rangers essentially wasted their time with this guy instead of pursuing a guy like Boullion (sp?).

This brings up another question in regard to the pool.
I've figured out how to do lineup changes day to day, but what do you do with a guy that's injured.
Leave him as a bench player, or do we have an IR list somewhere.

Help

You can drop him. Hover your mouse over MY TEAM and there will be a button for DROP PLAYERS. Or I would think the only other option would be to keep him on the bench.

Just drop him and go to ADD players and pick up another player you want.

We have 1 slot on our rosters for an injured player. The league settings show 4 BN spots and 1 IR spot on rosters. Not sure how you would go about putting an injured player into IR status. Any more than 1 injured player, you gotta drop them or leave them on your bench.

You may have to change your "VIEW" to Classic in stead og Drag & drop. The you will see the IR option. It may take a few days before Markov is "OFFICIALLY on IR. There will be a blue or red IR next to his name shortly.

Back to the reallllll deal......

+++

Pens had a nice opening deal to raise the banner. Lots of cheers for 25, 29, 71 & 87.

My kids had their jerseys out early so, I knew the Rangers were in trouble.

Strong goals from Malkin & Crosby. TK had a nice deflection. Gaborik was strong in the OFF zone for the NYR.

FLuery had a nice save on a 2 on 1 to keep it close. Hank was strong as well on a few shots from Staal.

Huge fight between Godard & Brash. Brash nailed him with a left to start off. Godard came back strong with a few rights of his own. Solid draw.

Unhappy

I am happy the Canadiens beat the Leafs. It's very frustrating that Markov is out for months though! He is their best player!

BTW...

Did anybody see Patrick Kane's goal tonight. Just saw it on the "NHL on the FLy" highlights. He went forehand, backhand, topshelf and in. Just SICK.......
