I think the Cup will stay in the East, either Pittsburgh or Washington.

The Wings will probably need this year to establish the new guys (Leino is going to be a big time goal scorer); Chicago will probably make a deep push but no Cup yet.

I'm just excited for tomorrow!

Cup- Philly
Art Ross- Ovechkin
Hart- Datsyuk
Richard- Ovechkin
Norris- Green
Vezina- Backstrom
Adams- Julien

I couldn't pick the Selke or Calder as I really couldn't put my finger on one player.

And I'm not current on all the rookie players so I don't think I could make a good prediction.

Maybe Victor Hedman, perhaps?

Would never expect the B's to equal their tremendous regular season of last year, just looking for them to maintain as a strong top 5 team in the eastern conf.

The guys to watch for me are:

1. Tim Thomas - See no reason he won't repeat as one of the elite goalies in the league.
2. Milan Lucic - Reasonable to expect his scoring to increase a noticeable amount.
3. David Kredji - Seems clear to me the B's wanted to keep him more than Kessel. He's a hell of a young player and I'm dying to see if he becomes more of a household name.
4. Patrice Bergeron - He's back fully from that serious head injury and I really want to see him be the leader of this team.

I can watch the B's tonight, i'm looking forward to it.

As well, the late game on Center Ice is Colorado and San Jose.

The first night of hockey, and Dany Heatley in my rec room.
I may need to fight the urge to take a leak on my flat screen.

As for predictions, this current lineup of Oilers will not make the playoffs, making it 4 straight years.
They're not far of though, if they could find away to make a move or two, they might squeeze in.

And i'm crowned VHLinks Fantasy Hockey Champ, and then i make a rather rude acceptance speech questioning the breeding of the other players in the pool.

Eastern Conf finals:

Pitt/Bos (Bos in 6)

Westeren Conf finals:

San Jose/Detroit (SJ actually does well in playoffs, then lose to Boston for the Cup)

Tough opening loss by the B's tonight. I missed the second period because I was on the road but did see the whole first period. I was very happy with what I saw....they were skating hard, hitting, getting some great scoring chances, etc. Actually felt like a playoff game.

But what can you do?? The Caps are hardly chumps. Nothing to be worried about from what I can see.

So guys, this may be an exceedingly dumb question, but does a guy need to work this fantasy pool everyday?

Like i'm thinking, I have Lucic as a bench player, but should i have been inserting him into my lineup for the night?
Do i do that everyday with players?
Is this now my life?

It can be......or you can go on the weekends and set your roster for the entire week ahead of time, one day at a time. It's totally up to you.

So i can go in, say sunday, and put my lineup in for Monday, Tuesday etc. and then it automatically changes it for me during the week?

Great to see Calgary beat up on Vancouver, they had a great first and were okay the rest of the game, Kipper sealed the win.

Also, it was awesome to see Dany Heatley play terribly against the Avs, he was -3 and was directly responsible for the Avs second goal; made me feel very warm inside

Wow was that a great game last nite between the B's and the Caps. I really thought the first 10 minutes the B's were skating around without any real problem. Garbage goals by Laich, but that is what he does for a living - same as Knuble. That no-look pass from Semin to Ovie which in turn led to the Great 8's first goal was amazing. Bergeron's breakaway was amazing with him faking out Jose. He really didn't have a chance to stop that shot.

I know it's alittle early in the season but 2 Caps are #1 & #2 for both points and goals (Laich and Ovechkin). Here's to them leading those categories wire-to-wire!!!

You guys deserved to win that game in many respects. However, like I predicted Komisarek's last of discipline in his physical play COST you the game.

He should have been penalized twice as much as he actually was.

He should have been kicked out the game for the HEAD shot against Gionta. IF Gionta had been seriously hurt, Komisarek WOULD have been kicked out of the game and possibly suspended. But because Gionta LUCKILY walked away from it, no call was made. And that is something the league NEEDS to change.

Yet if there is a TINY hook to a guy, that ref can't get his hand up quick enough.

But now to the Habs......their offense needs more spark...and their D....well....their defense just flat out SUCKS. Markov might be out now. Who do we rely on? Gil's Skills? I know he won a Cup and all and he still needs to prove more to me....but god damn.....he sucked last night....HARD. Mara played OKAY. Spacek is ALRIGHT. Nice shot from the point. O'Byrne is...well he's big. But we need two big shots at the point and we don't have that.

The Leafs looked good. But when you take 45 shots on net...you GOTTA score more than 3 times. And one of those goals was on a bullshit powerplay when Gomez was called for running Toskala.

think the ref closed his eyes when Komisarek pushed Gomez into the goalie.
