Yeah, it was Marty Friedman more than anything. Friedman left the band because Dave told him it was time to start playing metal again (The World Needs A Hero) and Friedman didn't want to and split. According to Mustaine, Friedman now plays in Japan for a female pop star and wears a kimono on stage.

All I know is this...Megadeth are no Metallica. Anything Metallica put out, including "St. Anger" is better than anything Megadeth has ever made IMO.

sorry dude....but you're smoking something, especially by saying that piece of shit St. Anger is better than anything Megadeth has put out. You probably haven't even hear the Megadeth catalog otherwise you wouldn't be making such a ridiculous statement.

That's a joke! Now, I'm not going to say that its the other way around, because I love both bands equally. But I will agree with Valdez that you wouldn't be saying something so ridiculous unless you've heard all of Megadeth's stuff. With the exception of Risk, which some people do like a lot, I think that every Megadeth album released kicks ass. Metallica has not put out an album that absolutely kicks ass in 14 years. The Loads of shit had their moments, but were nothing compared to what Metallica released before it. Mustaine contributed greatly to Metallica's first two albums, and wrote a lot of the best stuff on each one. All I can say is listen to some of their stuff. Go out and buy the live Megadeth album. With the utmost respect given to the Allman Brothers live album at the Fillmore East, I firmly believe that Rude Awakening is the best live album I've ever heard. If you like the style of music that Megadeth and Metallica plays, then that live album will shut your mouth hard and fast.

Honestly, I don't really have one. I guess I would say Peace Sells, but I absolutely love Five Magics, In My Darkest Hour, Hook In Mouth, Wake Up Dead, Hangar 18 and Return to Hangar, 1000 Times Goodbye, Devils Island, Good Morning/Black Friday, Ashes In Your Mouth, Architecture of Aggression, Angry Again, A Tout Le Monde, etc. They all kick ass, and I just can't really make up my mind. Countdown to Extinction has been my favorite album, but lately I've become quite partial to So Far, So Good...So What!

What about you?

Yeah, Dave's actually going to announce this week who is going to be on the festival tour with them. I frequent the Megadeth forums, and Dave posts there almost everyday and said he would announce the tour this week. I haven't seen them live, but I figure I will twice this summer. I wanted to catch them in November, but they didn't come to Indy, so I had no chance to go.

Anyone notice that the song "Go To Hell" has the line "and now I lay me down to sleep..." just as Metallica's "Enter Sandman" does? I wonder If that was intentional.Good song by the way.

It is a killer song, and I'd venture to guess that it was intentional.

Without trying to disrespect anyone here I have heard a great deal but not all of Megadeth's catalog. I just find Mustaine's voice to be awful and the music that they make "forgetable".

Again not trying to anger anyone it's only my opinion, and other than it being my two cents, it's worth even less than that to those who disagree with it. Peace.

Ok...I respect your opinion. However, even most Metallica fans/metal fans who've been around since Kill em' All, will agree that St. Anger = piece of shit, and Megadeth' Rust in Peace = Legendary. Comparing St. Anger to any Megadeth album is like comparing Ace Frehley (who is the only reason I enjoy old Kiss) to Eddie Van Halen. My 2 cents.
