MA Reference in Mike Inez Bass Player Magazine Interview
Mike Inez is interviewed about the upcoming AIC release in Bass Player Magazine and mentions MA in the question on the last page, "What current bassists have caught your ear?". Says he's met MA among a number of LA bassists. The article was a good read...cites a lot of old school bassists as his influences including Entwistle, McCartney, JPJ, & Cliff Burton.

PS - The new AIC single "Check My Brain" rocks!!!

I'm pretty sure that Mike Inez wasn't the bass player for AIC when they toured together. That was Mike Starr. Unless you're talking about a different tour.

Inez replaced Mike Starr during the Dirt tour in 1993. AIC supported Facelift opening for VH during the first round of the FUCK Tour in 1991-92 with Starr on bass. I caught the show at Shoreline in Mountain View and got to see Eddie & Jerry jam during the encore; quite a treat.

I agree whole heartedly with his McCartney comment, his playing often gets overlooked.

Wow, EVH and Jerry jamming.....I saw that tour in Albany, NY. We didn't get a jam at the end though. Great show, however. Anything stand out from the jam? I recall reading an interview with Jerry several years later in which he mentioned how Eddie hooked him up with a shit load of brand new equipment after they completed the tour. Something to the effect that when Jerry got home he opened his garage to find a bunch of Ed's signature gear with a note thanking him for a great tour.

During the final Alice number, Eddie popped out on stage and jammed with the band. I think it was Sea of Sorrow if memory serves me correctly. Ed hung out in the rear/side area and played rhythm/tried to be all low-key but the crowd went nuts as you would imagine.
