I'm not saying he's not drunk, I'm just saying if you were to analyze that blood sample the alcohol is probably the health food portion.

Right?! It was quite clear to me that he was fucked-up on something...

And still, even though it had a double-cutaway, I couldn’t get up high enough. So I had to take a saw to it."

The Allstate Arena (1st Chicago Show) was fucking great!

DLR was the weak link that night only because he flubbed some lyrics.
Ed was ON FIRE!
Actually, I wish I was fucking stoned out of my mind that night at Allstate......maybe it would have been a better show! Eddie was great, no doubt. But, if you look at the entire show, which is what I commented on, it was just good--not great. C'mon, do you really think Wolfie and DLR were entertaining that night? Did you hear all the guys yelling, "fucking homo!" when DLR carried on with his antics? Had he focused on the music for a just a minute, he wouldn't have flubbed the lyrics. Eddie and Alex totally picked up the slack that night. DLR was ahead of the music on more than a handful of songs. The Van Halens were all looking at each other trying to catch up to David. When they sped up, so did DLR. They couldn't get it together. Yes, Eddie was great....his solo was excellent (of course, would've like Eruption in it's entirety). But in Vegas, DLR and Alex picked up the slack for Eddie. As you read on this board, Eddie did not have his best night. But, I was there to see the group, Van Halen, not just Eddie Van Halen. The group was much better in Vegas than at Allstate, in my opinion.

I never thought I’d see a worse effort from Ed than Milwaukee in 2004, but he topped it.

Arthritis? I wish. Farside just nailed that possible excuse. Bottom line is Ed doesn’t listen to the other musicians on stage anymore. That’s what was happening. By the time he started his solo, I just sat down and covered my face with disgust, embarrassment and sadness. The first Chicago show on the tour was phenomenal, and then to see this. Ugh.

I had nosebleeds in the back for the show, the entire back of the arena was sitting. After I heard Ed butcher the start of Mean Street, I could tell we were in for a very long night. (pun intended).

So we mingled in the upper level and went in the seats on Ed’s side, right beside the stage, for the rest of the show. Al grabbed Ed before the encore behind the amps to have a talk with him, it was calm, we can only imagine what Al had to say.

Now Dave and Sam have even more in common,,, trying to pull off a 2 hour train wreck with class and showmanship. He succeeded. Wolf looked more comfortable on stage than when I saw them earlier this year. He’s really blossoming as the shows go by. Al is a rock.

My advice: If you’ve already seen VH on this tour and enjoyed it, don’t bother going to anymore shows unless money and tarnished memories mean nothing to you. I wish I would have seen this before I bought my Milwaukee tickets 2 weeks ago.

Happy New Year

Your'e a joke dude

At their worst, they were better than any of the bullshit out there. You..and the rest of your fuckin' Rappin' friends

I was at the Chicago show and thought it was excellent. No one was calling
Dave names from where I sat. I find that very ignorant. Do you need to bring that up here? I am sick of everyone acting like they have no idea how Dave performs. He is what he is and no one is putting a gun to anyone's head to attend. Freddy Mercury was an awesome singer/performer. His stage antics were very over the top. Did anyone care? Nope! Great band and great music. That is all I cared about. Same with Dave. I don't really think he did anything disturbing. Yes, the chains and microphone were stupid. So what? It should not upset anyone with enough sense to just have a good time. As far as forgeting the lyrics, give me a break. The man was on top of his game. The fans want to hear "I forgot the fucking words." If you sat there counting notes to determine who was on time, you missed the boat big time. Next time have a beer, relax and enjoy the show. If this tour was 1/2 as bad as some would have people believe, the press would be tourching them. They have no love loss for Dave given his failed solo career. I envite you to read the great reviews on www.vhnd.com. It was a great show. As far as Vegas, the clips I saw from the 30th did not look good. I wasn't there and will not comment on whether or not I think Ed was drunk. I hope not. The reviews for the 28th were very good from what I read at VHND. Here is hoping for a great repeat performance in April at the Allstate!

Do you really have to be so critical of his OPINION and OBSERVATION?

Why does he have to be done?

Motherfucker's obviously drunk but when sober can still play

He wasnt anything like this in Fresno in November,he's an alcoholic who needs to never pick up a drink again,he obviously slipped, dont mean he's done

Dude can play end of story,if and when he gets off the sauce or whatever ails him he is just fine

He's a long way from done!
