I wanted to point out one thing here before the Arthritis thing gets blamed for this.

Arthritis doesnt make you forget how to play your own songs. Ed was coming in late, playing wrong frets, completely noodling in a bad way during the song and looking at Al saying I forgot where I am. If it was arthritis why solo instead of playing bar chords?

Believe me I know how serious it can be if its true because my son has arthritis and the worst form there is and he plays guitar.

Unhappy BRUTAL

Just got back from the Vegas trip and the 12/30 show.
I never thought I’d see a worse effort from Ed than Milwaukee in 2004, but he topped it.

Arthritis? I wish. Farside just nailed that possible excuse. Bottom line is Ed doesn’t listen to the other musicians on stage anymore. That’s what was happening. By the time he started his solo, I just sat down and covered my face with disgust, embarrassment and sadness. The first Chicago show on the tour was phenomenal, and then to see this. Ugh.

I had nosebleeds in the back for the show, the entire back of the arena was sitting. After I heard Ed butcher the start of Mean Street, I could tell we were in for a very long night. (pun intended).

So we mingled in the upper level and went in the seats on Ed’s side, right beside the stage, for the rest of the show. Al grabbed Ed before the encore behind the amps to have a talk with him, it was calm, we can only imagine what Al had to say.

Now Dave and Sam have even more in common,,, trying to pull off a 2 hour train wreck with class and showmanship. He succeeded. Wolf looked more comfortable on stage than when I saw them earlier this year. He’s really blossoming as the shows go by. Al is a rock.

My advice: If you’ve already seen VH on this tour and enjoyed it, don’t bother going to anymore shows unless money and tarnished memories mean nothing to you. I wish I would have seen this before I bought my Milwaukee tickets 2 weeks ago.

Happy New Year

I was at the show Sunday night, I'd never seen Van Halen live. I am not a musician and have no musical talent. I thought the show was great, we left happy we had been there. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, glad I have no clue how to play the guitar.

Anyone see those two girls wearing dresses with basically nothing on in the front, gotta love Vegas.

One thing I forgot to point out is the keyboards are live.
The beginning of I'll Wait the keyboard player messed up.

hellohawk - you are correct he doesnt listen to anyone but himself. He seems to have A.D.D. more than anything.

Default Show sucked

The last time I saw VH was 1981 - it was magic - it was awesome. What I saw on Dec 30 in Vegas was shit. Ed needs serious help and he's f-ing up on stage with his 15-16 yr old son who (i mean no disrespect - is only marginally talented). I paid alot of money to go to vegas over new years to see who I thought was one of the greatest rock outfits ever assembled. I was wrong. Arthritis? - whatever - fine if thats the case ok - Divorce yeah it happens - but that doesnt get me my $187.00 F_ING DOLLARS BACK TO SEE A WASHED UP WASTED LEDGEND THAT WILL EITHER FADE FURTHER AWAY OR BE IN REHAB YET AGAIN ! HE WAS F_ING WASTED AND I WOULD HAVE ENJOYED A TRIBUTE BAND MORE! Do not waste your money or time planning to see what you once knew was VH - it don't exist anymore - sadly.

Ed seemed pretty good on this clip, I don't see what everyone's issue is?

I found this longer solo spot, this is actually right where I was sitting for the second half of the show.

If you had a great time, awesome. I on the other hand, was crushed.

Wow. That makes me want to cry. Anyone who watches that clip and remains unconvinced that Ed was simply hammered is a fool. Good Lord, at the :48 mark, when he walks over to his pedal board, he almost FALLS DOWN! Clearly, sadly, very intoxicated.

And for it to happen right in front of his 16-year-old son makes it even more sad and pathetic.

Selfishly, I hope Ed cleans it up before the Little Rock show on 1/30.

Wow ...... That makes me very sad to see that. I was rooting for Ed all the way on this tour. He was pretty awesome early on in the tour, but that quite frankly, even I who always makes excuses for Ed, cannot find an excuse for. Its just sad ..........................
