Sorry Daisy, I've never watched Project Runway. What's the deal?

You've never watched Project Runway Oh my gosh I love it....it's a fashion design competition hosted by Heidi Klum with Tim Gunn as a design mentor...they throw crazy projects at them and they have 48 hours to design and sew a piece to show....
this year they have this middle aged woman from Queens as one of the contestants and her designs are this 80's style rock and roll biker chic stuff and she talks in her queens accent "Leatha....why can't I just sew leatha....this would look so good in letha"
and her stuff all looks like Patti Smith should be snapping it up anyway.
Even if you don't love fashion, you get a behind the scenes look at the creative process that's really cool
and the guys are reading this thread and tearing up....sniffle sniffle....I tought they were gonna talk about sex! sniffle sniffle

I've used bare minerals and like it.....you have to use it lightly, but I get good coverage on my combination skin without looking made up or feeling chalky.....problem is I don't like being on an auto delivery so I run out....the stuff I've picked up in the stores doesn't even feel the same
I've also tried Leeza Gibbons Sheer coverage and don't like it as well...it's more powdery
but I do think that bare minerals has to have a talc base....otherwise what could it be? mud? lead? cow dung?

I'm so tired of dealing with it, I usually clip it up. For the summer, that's great but it would be nice to blow it out and have it look decent. Otherwise, I'm ready to cut it off again where it's stacked in the back with long wispy bangs. The only thing I hate with that is with short hair, it's the only way you can wear. At least now I can change it.

If your hair is fine then Super Skinny will weigh your hair down too much. You should really try the TIGI S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer. I have fine hair with a natural wave too and this stuff works wonders. Just work a little of it (about a dime size) through damp hair before you blow dry. Hair comes out silky smooth and soft. Hands down, it's my favorite hair product.

Do you buy it at a salon, drug store or online? Like I mentioned, I've been buying the Kendra line but it just doesn't smooth enough.

That's me - gotta have all the "spackle" washed off or can't sleep.
Here's the deal w/ moisturizers...JMO...good to use, although somewhere down the road I must have slacked off a bit, or could be the dry skin I have...they didn't do anything to help w/ my aging process. I think the BIG thing is sunscreen. My face has so much sun damage due to me not ever using sunscreen. This past March I had a nice size slab of skin cut out of my face (squamous sp?) cell cancer. It was like a VERY little scabby thing on my cheekbone - well, when the doctor was finished it was a freaking hole the size of a quarter. I got to the plastic surgeon and he had to take pictures, I nearly died when I saw the hole. Bad. Not anymore, thank God, he did an amazing job of repairing it.
Sunscreen is very important

You'd have to get it from a salon. I'm gonna say it retails for around $28-$30. If you know someone who is licensed they can buy it at wholesale cost from the beauty supply. I'm not a big fan of Kenra, about the only thing I like in their line is the color maintenance shampoo & conditioner.

LOL, yes Kenra not Kendra. I'm such a dork. Actually, my niece is now a licensed stylist so I bet I could ask her to pick it up for me. Thanks, I didn't even think about ask her.

Prescriptives just came out with a mineral make-up so I thought I'd give it a try. I really like it, it's very natural looking and gives your skin a nice glow. I like mineral make-up vs. a liquid foundation. Liquid foundation makes me feel like I'm wearing a mask or something.....

Yep, I'm a religious nut about washing the face at night, as well. In fact, I usually do it as soon as I eat dinner. I feel like I can't totally relax until my face is clean. Weird, I know.

Ladies, I'm lovin' this! Four pages of much needed girlie talk, it seems.
And the guys' reactions in the Talk About Anything thread....hilarious! Who knew VHR and SNIC were such horny dudes. Especially SNIC. Have I been missing something?
Frustrating the boys.....how delicious!

I don't wash my face before bed. I don't even wash the mascara off my eyes half the time. And really, it makes them look better the next day when I still have a little bit on that I wash around. No kidding.
I know, I'm such a dirty, dirty whore!
(and yes, Maybelline Waterproof is the only one I've ever used. Don't know how women can wear mascara that's not waterproof.)
So many great suggestions on here. I especially like recommendations on perfume, because I hate to waste money on something that doesn't smell good. And ladies, don't ya just throw it in the trash if it's not good? There's no foolin' around in this area. And God forbid the hubby tries to buy me perfume. Even if I tell him exactly which kind to get, he'll get something that kinda looks like what I said, but different, "because it was a lot cheaper!" Like he scored big time!
You know, I really do have a legitimate sex topic I'd like to discuss. Seriously. But I don't have time right now. I'll have to come back to it.

I'm just really fortunate because I abuse the heck out of my skin. I don't take care of it as well I should and I love the sun. I do use good products on it at least for my skin type, exfoliate every day and every morning after my shower, I slather a ton of lotion all over, two kinds actual, one for the moisturizing and one because it smells so good. And yet I'm fanatical about other things such as shaving. I shave half my body EVERY day. I can not stand stubble. I keep my nails clear coated and change polish about every third day. I can't stand for my toe nails not to be painted and yet, my skin is the last thing I worry about.
As for the perfume, the hubby bought me three kinds of perfume one Christmas because he wasn't sure what I would like. I still remember one of them was Oscar de le Renta which was pretty expensive. Couldn't stand the smell of it on me. I can't remember one of them, I think it was Sergio of Beverly Hills (so 80's, LOL) and then Lauren by Ralph Lauren which I still love to this day but can't wear it. It makes me sneeze. Three strikes. It's terrible but as hard as he has tried to buy me things for Christmas, they never seem to work out. He bought me leather gloves one year and they didn't fit. He bought me a diamond ring one year and we both agreed that it just didn't look right on me so we had to exchange it. After so many years, I tell him not to worry. Just let me shop till I drop at the sales after Christmas and we're good!
Oh, and I can't do waterproof mascara, I wear contacts. If it gets under your contacts, it won't dissolve and it can scratch your lens.
