As for cleansers, I'm a Neutragena fan. I use their unscented liquid facial soap, oil free moisturizer and their eye repair. Damn I spend I ton of money on all this crap and you have to wonder if it's all worth it, LOL. Actually, I love their eye repair as it does help with the fine lines. I like it better than the L'Oreal I tried.

I love Neutrogena cleanser, but as far as eye cream goes, you just cannot beat Repairwear! It works miracles!! Lol....it hides the dark circles under your eyes when you don't get much rest. I'm an Estee girl where makeup comes in. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I do use Revlon colorstay eyeliner though.

Question

Well that sounds nice and boring, should keep the guys outta here for a while.

Speaking of girl stuff, what do you think about all the new mineral foundations and eye colors that are out now? I hear they're a bit chalky. I also heard that the talc used is dangerous. (?) Never heard that before til recently. I haven't tried but was thinking about it til I heard all that other crap about the talc that's used to make it.

Anyone?

I tried the mineral makeup because my sister got some, hated it, so she gave it to me. I hated it too!! It dried my skin out way too much, and that was after I used moisurizer......I've never heard that about talc...I do know that you're not supposed to use talc on a baby's bottom because in can increase the chance of SIDS.

Never knew about the SIDs connection with the talc. T/G my kids are all grown - for the most part. I've still got a 7 year old but he's been out of diapers for a long time now.

That mineral stuff sounds like bad news. I was going to try it but I haven't heard a whole lotta positives about it. My skin is dry enough as it is.

You know, I'm such a creature of habit Carol, I have no idea about the new mineral stuff. My first make up was Clinique and here it is 30+ years later and I'm still using the same kind. I really need to get more adventuresome.

My youngest is five.....but my kid's pediatrician told me about the connection with talc and SIDS when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now ten.

I remember back when I was 14-15, my dad's then-g/f took me to Macy's downtown and bought me some Clinique. She also got me some eyeliner that came with a brush and now that's all I can use. I don't like these new eyeliner pens that they have now. I've always used the L'Oreal liners but they're getting hard to find.

As far as cleaners, I've been stuck on Mary Kay for over 10+ years now. I've tried others but always go back to it. The Timewise formula works wonders on my parched, aging skin.

I actually use the original minerals make-up, Bare Minerals by Bare Essentuals. Originally, you could only buy it online but I've found a few stores, like Sephora, that carry it. I absolutely love it and have been using it for about 4yrs. now. It's amazing how natural it looks. I have no idea if talc is used but I don't believe it is in the "formula"---could be wrong. Anyway, I have oily skin and it's the only thing I've found that has helped control that, plus the "look" of my skin has improved since using it. I've never in my life found a liquid foundation I could use without it looking like I was wearing make-up or that didn't feel heavy or make me feel greasy. Therefore, for years I wore nothing at all. I don't use any of their "color" line (i.e. shadows, blushes, etc.). I use the mineral foundation (which has sunscreen), "well rested" under eye highlighter/concealer, warmth, and mineral veil. They are all mineral powders. Anyway, just my $.02 on Bare Minerals (oh, and a little goes a long way so I'm actually spending less than before on make-up).

Oh, and for skin care I use Clinique, as well.

They've been making their's for a long time now so maybe they're worth trying. Not sure about the newer stuff but Bare Minerals has been around for a while so they must be doing something right.

I started with the Clinique but it dried out my skin so bad, it was actually flaky. I tried the Neutrogena and it seems to have the right balance for my skin. Then again, I was extremely lucky that I never had really oily skin with only the occasional breakout during my TOM. My poor sister on the other hand continues to this day to struggle with oily skin and she turned 51 this year.

Yeah, I've had pretty oily skin my entire life (so did my mom) but I've been lucky to NOT have to deal with breakouts---not since I was about 15, anyway. Everyone tells me that I'll be glad for the oily skin b/c you don't wrinkle as early. Hmmm...don't know if that's true or not.

That's what I've always heard about oily skin. My sis had skin like that and she's not as "lined" as I am. I've had dry skin all my life. It's like a sponge, it soaks up the moisturizer as fast as I put it on.

You are lucky to have oily skin. My aunt has oily skin...she's 55 and looks 35.

My skin is as dry as a desert. I have to slather on heavy duty moisturizer just to keep from being flaky.

That's cool not having the breakouts. As I mentioned, my sister has struggled seeing dermatologists, trying all kinds of different products both over the counter and prescription and I think the thing that has helped her the most has been being vigilante about keeping her faced cleansed. The bit about the wrinkles makes sense though.

I have to ask this because it made me think of it. How many of you are religious about washing your face before bed? I confess, I can not remember the last time I took my makeup off before bed. My best friend on the other hand can be drunk as a skunk and she still washes her face before bed.

I am religious about washing my face every night....in fact, I can't sleep at night unless I've had a shower, and washed my hair.
