just got back from Cabo Wabo Vegas - It is OPEN

OK, I had a feeling this would happen. I once purchased one of the original Cabo Wabo bottles in 1996.

When I was booked for a conference in Vegas, and i saw it was supposed to open Dec 4 or 5, I thought there would be a soft opening. What are the odds it would open the same night I am here.

It was tonight. I was there. I bought a t-shirt and a frozen drink in a Cabo Wabo Cup (waborita). It was packed.

It is open. They told me it opened at 8pm tonight (Nov 10th) Please forgive me if this is old news.

Cool! What is the place like?

I'll be in Vegas for Dec. 4th and 5th. I hope I can get into the show on the 4th. I won't be arriving until late afternoon/evening, but I would love to go Friday!

It was more Vegas style than Cabo San Lucas style. Pretty corporate. High prices ($12 for a frozen Waborita in collectable plastic drink / sipper). Vegas Cabo shirt was $25. They had some cool CW hats I've never seen.

They had around 12 girls (all hot) as waitresses / hosts.

It says on Red Rocker.com that wrist bands will be handed out at 10:30 am on Dec 4th for the show that night one per person. Oh well I'am screwed because my plane arrives 1:30 pm. Any Vegas linkers who want to help out PM me.....

Turns out I get in at 8:30am, but I'm not sure that'll get me there in time to get a wristband. It depends on how many people get there and line up that early, b/c the earliest I'll probably be able to get in line is 9:00-9:30.

I need to get one of those wristbands!

Lordy, LORDY! What a fantastic time a the Cabo Wabo in Vega$! Sammy knows HOW to throw a PARTY!

I was blessed to have been coming out of the bathroom right when he took the stage with the house band. I planted myself at the foot of the stage to the right and was in the right place at the right time when Sammy started singing "Mas Tequila" and he took a swig off a fresh bottle of Cabo Wabo, then handed it TO ME!!!

From what I'm told (it's a little blurry), I was obviously stunned, grabbed the bottle like a chalice, looked at it like a gift from God, blinked a couple of times, threw it back, then passed it back to the Red Rocker himself!!!!

Does anyone have a setlist from the show?
