Intro Music to Wedding
I could have sworn that I saw a post about this awhile back, but did a "wedding" search and couldn't find.
My daughter is getting married in a few weeks and I'm trying to decide which VH song to have playing while my husband and I get introduced. I like the into to 5150 ... my daughter likes Panama...
Any help would be appreciated.

go with the intro to 5150 or summer nights! I did a mash up of 4-5 songs...thinking back, its a little comical that my wife went along with it.

We came out to Jump, unfortunately. The dj was a tool. He knew I loved VH, but didn't confer with me. Jump is one of my least favorite VH tunes. If it would have been up to me; Unchained.

This will be for the reception, right? My first wife insisted upon a church wedding. I wanted the Everly Brothers' "Let It Be Me" to be played sometime during the ceremony, but the church organist refused, claiming the Everly's were not sacred. You might imagine how I responded to this.
Oh, and that same church organist had the nerve to demand payment as we were exiting the chapel at the end of the wedding. She literally stood there, blocking our way with her hand out. Needless to say, I had a more than a few choice words for the bitch. No, these words were not very sacred either, come to think of it.
As for the tune, I would not go overboard with anything uptempo. And to be honest, I can think of about a half-dozen Z.Z. Top tunes that would work quite well, yet can barely think of any appropriate VH tunes.

Our party was introduced with "Right Now". We looped the intro a little. The first dance after the dinner was "Dance the Night Away". Man, I was so stressed the whole wedding day that I barely remember any of it.

We did Top of the World for our reception introductions. Seemed appropriate and it was one of the wife's fave VH tunes...

Yeah there is nothing better than that intro riff!! I'm sad that Ed didn't play it more often after the 5150 tour. Why not bring the transtrem guitar out on the road?
My vote is Summer Nights!

I'm going to play all the mentioned songs this weekend, and see what the verdict is. I like Right Now, but agree with the intro being cut just a little bit.
BTW...nice avatar, Ron.....you look like Ted Nugent!

I am a wedding coordinator at my church. Our organist won't play secular stuff, either. Our pastor is OK with it as long as it's instrumental. You have to remember, a wedding IS a worship service, with a wedding ceremony tucked in there.
At the wedding I'm doing mext weekend, the bride's recessional music is "Sweet Child O'Mine" played on the piano. It sounds really pretty! I was surprised. You can bet our organist is NOT playing it, tho!
The last song played at my wedding reception was "So This Is Love." Come on, baby, take me home!

Well whats played at the wedding ceremony is one thing...what is being asked here is for the reception.
You will be lucky if they play near a minute of the tune...it starts they announce you , you walk in wave smile etc sit and then on to the next thing...so maybe 30 seconds to a minute of music at most?
I assume you want to make a fun selection which is VH and makes that rock and roll impact as you are announced. Ultimately it may be best to pick a tune that means a lot to you and your hubby as a fun/kick ass selection.
Most VH tunes have questionable language and content for such a mixed setting but if that doesn't matter....
Everybody Want Some has a killer beginning. That's a great choice imo witht he whole wild jungle vibe going b4 Ed rips into it.
Hot For Teacher has an amazing beginning also.
Both would have that cool VH rock impact.
Again I think you'd likely be seated b4 the tune ever gets deep into the lyrics but if you worry about that... 5150 as you mentioned may be a safe bet.
All the best and have fun.
