Some things will always be the same here. Some people won't accept Sammy as the singer. Some won't accept Dave. Most didn't accept Gary. To some, Mike is Van Halen, to others its Dave, Sam, Eddie or Alex. Wolfgang like it or not is in the band. He or Eddie will be the guy playing bass on a new album if it ever sees the light of day. He or Steve Lukather will be singing backups as well. It's what it is and unless Mike or Ed patch things up, it will stay that way until the band is really done.
Better get used to it. Most of you dig Chickenfoot more than this current incarnation of Van Halen so just ignore it like fans of CF tell people who rip on the 'Foot.
The bands history is fucked up enough as it is. 3 singers, 2 bass players and two different reunion tours. Just add this to the list.

I know for a fact that the Turtles had a late teen guitar player touring with them as I saw them in concert several years back.

Derek Trucks began playing with the Allman Brothers on tour regularly when he about 13-14 years old. Granted, he's damn good, but still that's way younger than 18-19 years old.

broken,
you think the anti-Ed brigade wouldn't complain had Mike been in the game? They'd bitch about Mike not getting 25% of the money, or Sam not being included, or the fact that only Ed could put the band back together in make believe but not in reality.
These people wouldn't have bought the game anyways so why do they matter? the answer is, they don't matter. Just like how much they mattered when they refused to go to the 2008 tour. I understand being pissed at Ed, I just don't understand why these same couple of dozen people feel the need to tell us that every day.
I'm not a big fan of the guitar hero games but I'm sure my wife will pick this up for me for Christmas.
Part of me would have loved for VH to include Gary in the game just to piss people off.

cool...I knew it was something like that.
Then I remembered that hot ass jailbait bass player Jeff Beck has been working with. She's been on the scene since her teens...I think she's in her early 20s now.
So it's not unprecedented that "classic" bands have teenagers in it...but I guess since the teenager in question replaced St. Mike The Class Act it's different.

It appears that the famously right-wing musician, seen above sporting a wig-mullet and full body beard, had made derogotary comments about the girl's father, a communist party official from Ghangzhou.
Just moments after this photo was taken, the plucky girl, whose name remains unreleased, socked the Nuge with a straight left followed by a roundhouse kick, as she screamed "You don't lock. You don't loll. You illelevant".
Sources say that the Nuge will still be performing his scheduled concert on his poorly attended "American dickhead" tour, tomorrow night. Controversy has followed the tour, which includes live on stage killings of illegal aliens. One unwilling attendee, named Jason, of Cuban - Jewish ancestry, said quite succinctly; "Ted's a fag". - The one and only Graeme

And that's different. Wolfgang isn't. Nor should he be portrayed in the DLR era of this game from 1978-1984 either. Lame.

that's how I look at it. I would have designed the game differently.
I would have had retro scenes but sans Wolfe. I'd have just had a generic bass player or simply not had any camera shots of the bass player. Then, right along with unlocking the 2007 outfits and stage, i would have had Wolfe as an unlockable.
Simple, easy...no bullshit.

It points to two logical scenarios.
1. The game designers completely missed the boat by not including the group's entire catalogue and unlockable characters such as Anthony, Hagar and Cherone. (Sorry Mark Stone )
2. Being completely aware of this band's past, the game designers have a second version of the game lined up featuring Hagar, to be released if/when the alleged "VHIV" line up implodes and Hagar is inevitably invited back to the fold.

Yeah a while back in one of the other threads about this I laid out exactly how I would have created the awesome VH game experience with everyone involved and all the music. Their history really allows for all sorts of unlockables and stage settings and easter egg type stuff. It's a real shame that like so many things in this band's recent history, this has to be full of compromise and just plain half-assed.
I'm not a hardcore hater but this is a great example of something being, you know...ok, but that could have been AWESOME.
And I imagine they've had several conversations about a sequel to the game to include the Sammy years but didn't feel confident enough in it to call this Van Halen Guitar Hero Vol 1 or anything like that.

Okay, got a question for those of you who may have GH: Aerosmith, how many tracks of their music is in the game? I ask because I'd be pretty pissed if this GH:VH had the same amount of VH songs it has now, but was spread out over 2 (or even 3) singers. You'd virtually assure that NO deep cuts made it on there.
