Haven't banged the drum yet, but only Mike's appearance would be necessary when they are simulating time periods that he was in the band. Honestly, showing a '78 Ed with current day (or '07) Wolfie, is no different that the album cover thingy.

And BTW, in the game, Wolf was air-bassing

I don't play video games anymore but whatever, the game looks cool. It would have been nice to see all eras represented for each appropriate time period though.

Everyone should be on (minority opinion here I'm sure) including Gary. Not from a "that's bullshit they left those guys off, I can't believe the audacity of those fucking VH bros. durp durp dang". But just from a perspective that a game about VH, is a stupid game with the modern version of VH. From an aesthetic standpoint, to a bullshit rip-off standpoint that half their repertoire, history is just erased. You can keep Scrappy-Doo and Tom and Jerry being friends bullshit, give me the real deal.

The Wolf thing makes Van Halen look RIDICULOUS. It makes them a joke. Even if Michael Anthony hadn't been fired. Say mike decided to join a convent, had died, or had retired. I would still say, even if Mike hadn't been wronged, that Wolfie OBVIOUSLY looks beyond ridiculous there.

I mean tell me WHICH classic band gets a teenager with no experience, only because he's related to the band?

Is there a teenager in AC/DC?

Is there a teenager in Aerosmith?

Is there a teenager in Iron Maiden?

Is there a teenager in Motley Crue?

I could go on. The answer is a resounding NO.

Van Halen is made into a joke because of this change and it's sad to see. I mean the kid is wearing his dad's clothes from 1984???
I mean fine, at home he could play with Ed's clothes and pretend to be his dad in the mirror. But this? For the world to see? Come on. It reinforces that someone in this band is not playing with a full deck of cards, and should not be enabled to destroy what once was a truly legendary name in rock.

When playing any of the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games I've never noticed any of the background characters moving around.

This is nothing more then buying a greatest hits package that I get to share with friends and family. Its going to be a fun party game just like all the others and I can't wait to butcher the vocals to Hear About It Later and Dance The Night Away.

i'm not positive so I will rely on some VH Links fact checking on this but I THINK Allman Bros (or skynyrd or both) as well as Chicago brought in teenagers...19 year olds who were guitar prodigies. They may have been in their early 20s not sure.

I know for a fact that the Turtles had a late teen guitar player touring with them as I saw them in concert several years back.
