When you buy a house the government gives us a free 100 inch tv with a 1000 watt surround sound. No one really leaves the house.

Preach on, Brotha Axe.

I think STL has really gotten the shaft out of the whole CF deal (I'm jealous of all of you that had a show and I MEAN IT - most I've looked forward to a CD and concert in a LONG time). I wonder what is going on.

Notice that it seems more and more that STL gets snubbed on a lot of shows anymore? I've heard management here is really becoming a pain, so bands just aren't coming here as much any more. Country acts and that is becoming about it. Makes you think fondly to the days of Contemporary Productions, where everybody hit STL.

You mean to tell me they can't even get it to The Tivoli in the Loop? That's the coolest theater around. Not the most up to date, but sheesh. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone here will add it.

That really is a kick to the balls. St. Louis is one of the Sammy strongholds. You'd think the Foot make it a point to go there.

I may be mistaken but wasn't there an issue with the last time Sam was in St. Louis? As I remember he announced It's was Miller Time! This doesn't go over well with all the Anheuser Bushies.

I'm sure that the cities that are selected are based on something. Sells of the disc vs. population size, local airplay, cities missing the tour, Carmike location...etc... Whatever formula was used I'm sure there are some cities that should have a screening and some that probably won't do well. I have no doubt there are people in a meeting room with Sony figuring out what cities to play or not. Maybe one thing they are looking at is to see what markets another Foot tour may want to visit.

Kind of an out there theory, but maybe they avoided St. Louis specifically because Sam is so popular there. Most Hagar fans know that for whatever reason he is bigger in St. Louis than other places. It seems like from the beginning CF was about being a band of equal members and didn't think it should be "the Sammy show" in St. Louis.

I don't know. The NA Tour was very limited, missing many larger metro areas. As an example, the Baltimore show was added at the last second and the Balt/DC area is one of the top five media markets (or close to it). I think depending on the management companies for the venues and limited engagements, some places were simply missed.

It is bit of a shame that some cities couldn't sell out while St. Lou was skipped. For the St. Louis people - do you think CF could have possibly sold out an arena - say 15,000 people or so?

I could've SWORE I saw where it was going to be in regular theaters starting the 7th or something like that. I can't find it anywhere though. It seems a waste to do it for one night only.

Not really, this is a Sony promotion with Carmike Cinemas. I don't know how it ties together but if Sony is going to release a Foot DVD a one night, Tuesday night preview, is a realtively inexpensive promotional effort that is a win-win for the parties involved. Tuesday night is more than likely the least attended movie night and Sony can get some cheap ad time and the theater sell seats that wouldn't normally be sold.

In the old days if they had to shoot 'film' it would be a too expensive but I'm sure today they just upload some digital version of the show and put it on screen.

I don't know if they could have sold out. Honestly, I kind of doubt it, but I could be wrong. It use to be impossible to get a Hagar ticket here. It's become slightly easier over the past 5 years.

The rumor I've heard here is that they wanted to play Verizon Wireless (outdoor, over the summer, 20,000-22,000 capacity). I heard the ampitheater management was concerned about how many tickets would be sold. The story was that they told The Foot that they had to sell the grass tix for $10. The Foot disagreed, thus no show. I don't know if I buy that.

I do have to say, if they did sell the grass seats for $10, I think people would have went for sure. About 13,000 "seats" are general admission\lawn. That's a heck of a deal at $10 a ticket. I don't know if that story is true, though!

I guess we'll have to hope for another album. I wanted to go to another city, but schedules didn't work out.
