I agree with what you said.

I was only joking when I mentioned "cash grab" because some folks are quick to use that term whether it's warrented or not.

I do think CF gets the whole PR and media stuff like we hope VH would.

I've thought about it a few days now and last Sunday here in SA was the best concert I've ever been too. Lots of reasons for that. Bring on the DVD

So the dvd is what exactly? Two of the videos they made. Behind the scenes stuff, some we already saw?...and what live video? A full concert or just a few tunes? Is BBTW on the music disc?

Not knocking it just curious. The fact that the DVD isn't sold separately leads me to believe it's not a full DVD type experience more of a bunch of extras and little bits instead of a full show. Is that the case?

Well may make a nice stocking stuffer if the wife go's there. Not sure I would pick this up on my own if it's not a full show. I already have the cd and seen em live and seen live clips online. etc

I really don't want to buy the CD again already, but looks like us diehards don't have a choice.
I like the band and LOVED them live, but I will NOT buy that CD again. I bought it twice already. Once for me and once for my wife. If it's only available with another purchase of the DVD, I'll download it for free eventually.

Sorry,

McQ

it's a way to get people to buy the cd again, it's a cash grab (just not a really succesful one likely).

It's a stupid business move. It's a sad and desperate attempt to quickly move unsold cds repackaged with an additional disc.

It wouldn't have been bad if they released both versions at the same time on the original street date thus giving fans an option of buying either version like most bands do these days. But doing it this way, *and* doing it within only a few months of the original bare-bones cd release is virtually spitting on their fans making many of them re-buy the original cd to get whatever content is on the bonus disc.

Please! No one even knows the details. Maybe they are going to be priced the same as if they were sold individually. We have no idea. Besides by a very loose definition of the term "cash grab" you could say that everything everyone does to make money in a capitalistic system is a "cash grab". The term "cash grab" therefore should only be reserved for the most egregious acts of capital piggishness. This is not one of those times.

I'm gonna guess that this will sell at a price higher than the dvd would as a stand alone product (if it doesn't then this is not a cash grab, it's just stupid). Assuming that is the case, then yes it is the exact definition of a cash grab. You are asking the people who bought your cd to basically spend some money to own another copy of it.

Not that I care, I own the cd and won't be buying the deluxe edition - doesn't really matter to me. It's a good album, this is just a way to sell some more copies of it. Good business move I imagine.

Let's not get all hot under the collar about this. So far, it hasn't hit the Chickenfoot website. So, as far as I'm concerned, it's only a rumor.

I don't think Sammy would do anything to screw the fans. They said all along that forming Chickenfoot and touring wasn't for the cash.

Not me. I like the band and I LOVED the live show. I just will NOT buy that CD again. Twice is enough... more than they should expect from a fan in this economy. Eventually, someone will rip it and put it on demonoid.

and it's not like Van Halen forced people to buy tickets to the last tour.

There is plenty of room for intelligent commentary on what either band does. Those that have an agenda should be ignored, no need to even mention them.

I don't think this deluxe edition is that a big deal, but it is what is. Anyone who bought the album would have a reason to be a little annoyed with this.
