Also, the version of Get it Up (even though it's not the whole song), reminded me why I liked this song so much in concert. It's so much heavier than the CD version. Good stuff.
Under a black light, the CD/DVD cover has the original thermal front and back photos, lyrics on the inside covers, Joe says CHICKENFOOT should be played loud and If 4 chickens crossed the road, 2 from each side, and 2 took the fork in the road, what did the other 2 do? on each spine/fold and the following next to each song on the back cover:
AR - TRY CROSSING IT SOMETIME
SOAR - DO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO
SLT - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
OY - SAY WHAT YOU NEED
RO - THERE'S NOT ENOUGH LOVE IN THE WORLD
GIU - IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED...
DTD - CAN YOU RELATE?
MKG - YES, THE "K" IS SUPPOSED TO BE BACKWARDS
LTF - BET THEY DIDN'T TEACH YOU THIS IN SCHOOL
TL - AT 200 MPH DO YOU REALLY WANT TO TURN RIGHT?
FITP - ALWAYS SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST
BBTW - CHICKENFOOT VS. THE CHESHIRE CAT
& STUFF YOU WON'T SEE US DOING ON THIS DVD: DANCING WITH THE STARS OR KNITTING - above the bar code
I've seen these guys live multiple times and I always thought Satch brought it even more live than he did on the album! Of course I was usually/always drunk so I wasn't sure how accurate that was. But watching this DVD I'd have to agree with that assessment! I can't believe how great he is live! Blows my mind.
You are right Satch is incredible live, and this release was a helluva alot better then what I thought it would be. It was will worth the 10 bucks.
Tracks that appear to have been cut from the debut release...
Bang The Drum
War Is Over
Save The Best For Last (or did it become "Future In The Past" ?)
I noticed that too. I think it is safe too assume that Save the Best for Last is "Future in the Past". Did the other two become something else, or are they different songs altogether? They might already be 20% done with the next album!
I don't know about all of you, but I think that's just dumb. They put together some nice packaging and then stick a big black plastic security device on the product I paid for and if I don't want it in the packaging I have to ruin it.
It really doesn't matter as I'm not that attached to the CD packaging, but it just seems absurd that they couldn't find a different place for the damned thing.
Other than that I'm pleased with the disc. I downloaded it from Amazon.com for $3.99 the day it was released as I was in southern California on a 15-day motorcycle tour of the west and it was perfect to pop on the iPod for that day's journey into Arizona. So getting it on CD is worth it and the DVD content is quite good. It's definitely a teaser for the proper concert DVD that'll come out next year.
