if it's 28 this week it's still doing really well. Oh Yeah has grown on me alot and gets decent airplay in my area but they need to get another single out there-My Kinda Girl has the potential to be a huge summertime hit.

On what radio format do you thing My Kinda Girl could be a hit on?
Here in Houston we have two classic rock stations that don't play anything new, even by the classic rock acts.
We have a top 40 station that plays the pop stuff.
We have a Buzz station that plays nu-metal and modern alternative crap.
We have an 80s station that plays some 90s and some 70s
We have a mix station that plays 70s, 80s, 90s and it's all middle of the road Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20 kind of stuff
We have a Jack station (that's the name of the station) that I honestly can't distinguish from the mix or the 80s station except that they don't seem to play any 70s or early 80s stuff.
None of those stations are going to play My Kinda Girl...or anything by Chickenfoot for more than a day or so before the concert in September....if that. They'll probably just play I Can't Drive 55 or Dreams.

Ageing rocker, Ted Nugent was held briefly for treatment at an Arizona hospital after an altercation with a six year old Chinese girl, sources say.
It appears that the famously right-wing musician, seen above sporting a wig-mullet and full body beard, had made derogotary comments about the girl's father, a communist party official from Ghangzhou.
Just moments after this photo was taken, the plucky girl, whose name remains unreleased, socked the Nuge with a straight left followed by a roundhouse kick, as she screamed "You don't lock. You don't loll. You illelevant".
Sources say that the Nuge will still be performing his scheduled concert on his poorly attended "American dickhead" tour, tomorrow night. Controversy has followed the tour, which includes live on stage killings of illegal aliens. One unwilling attendee, named Jason, of Cuban - Jewish ancestry, said quite succinctly; "Ted's a fag". - The one and only Graeme

that's cool that you guys still have a rock station...is it a seperate rock station from the "modern rock" station?

Yes we have 1 classic rock station that plays new classic rock music that I hear Oh Yeah on. Actually I live in the Greater Cincy area and this station is out of Dayton. WEBN in Cincy plays a variety of music from 60s,70s,80s,90s to current but I have not heard CF played. So I think its hit or miss on the music stations today. Let me say I hate the stations of the day not for sure but I think most of them are on by clear channel and they suck. They have a certain play list and they do not venture from it very frustrating.

we have one "classic" rock station (WCXS), one "real" rock station that plays almost everything from the 70's to now as long as it's rock (WRIF), a new rock alternative and I get 2 canadian stations depending on where I am.
WRIF is a good station, they play a ton of VH, Sammy, Montrose and even some solo DLR once in while-not alot. the canadian stations play Oh Yeah more than the michigan rock stations.

CD having cost north of $13 million to make will be remembered as one of the biggest failures in history. Only going platinum for this record is a huge let down. I bet it's the last album with the name G'N'R on it. The label lost so much money on it they'll never let Axl Rose release anything else.

I tend to mix the curry paste with the greek yoghurt first, fry the chicken up and then add the raisins and almonds and cream sauce at the same time.
Lime chutney is the killer punch.

As we all know CD's don't make money in today's market. CF has done well to make some money on their tour. I just heard SoaR this weekend in my market so I think this album will remain in the top 50 for a while and will get a bump when the US tour starts.

I don't think Axl did this for money. If he did he woulda done it very differently.
Like Chris Cornell did with Scream, I think that album's beautiful in part for the fact that the artist changed direction and made an album they knew wouldn't sell nearly as much as previous works, or as much as they could make it sell, but they did it anyway.
The label froze funding in 2006. Axl paid for the work on it done after that. Far more work towards the second album has been done than the first, it's far nearer to completion. I'd guess it'll cost a lot less, but Axl will probably have to pay for it himself. It's what MJ was doing....after the vast cost for Invincible didn't pay off he had to produce his own new album. That got put on hold for Thriller 25, King Of Pop and the cancelled This Is It tour. I'd guess most of the money from that was gonna go towards finishing an album he'd started work on and couldn't afford to complete.
Likewise, I suspect Axl will fund it himself if he can, and if he starts to run dry he'll begin another tour.
It's only a failure if you review it on its sales. The album wasn't about making money. The quick route to that would be a rip-off of Appetite rushed out years ago. And Axl would have endorsed/supported/promoted the release of Greatest Hits in 2004 instead of filing a lawsuit against his own label because of it.

I'm starting to wonder why Sammy bothered to put out Cosmic, given how the instant it was out all attention was diverted to Chickenfoot...that album didn't have a chance.

No, it's a failure because it SUCKED. And that's why an album with the name Guns N Roses did not sell.
I'll guarantee Axl thought it was great, and thought it would sell. I remember reading awhile back that Bob Ezrin came in and listened to what he had, and told Axl he had maybe one song worth working with...and Axl blew up, naturally. And didn't listen.
He's an idiot, but an idiot with too much money for anyone to tell him anything. Sort of like EVH. Neither can handle complete control of all facets of their career and NEED someone to manage them, yet both have strived for years to gain complete control. And what happened when they finally got control?
VH3 then nothing for the next 11 years, and Chinese Democracy 18 years after the last GnR studio album was made. And both sold like the turds they are.
