Thumbs up Best Hockey Tough guy

Since the NHL is finally back, and I know that there are some serious fans on this board, who's everyone's all time favorite hockey tough guy?

For me, Tony Twist takes the cake. It was a real shame that he had to hang'em up early. Bob Probert probably comes in at a close second.

My favorite hockey fight would be probably be Probert vs. McSorley when he played for the Pens back in '93-'94. Probert was playing for the Wings. They just started unloading on each other, and neither one of them was going down. KBL (the cable channel in Pittsburgh that broadcast the game) literally had to cut to commercial in the middle of the fight, and after the commercials were over, they were still swinging away. Unbelieveable. Finally, the linesman just stepped in and stopped it. They were so tired, it looked like they were swinging in slow motion. Of course, 3 minutes or so of continued pummeling would probably tire anybody out...

Man, I'm glad hockey's back. Go Pens!

Thumbs up

Bob Probert is my favorite. I used to love it when he pounded the Leaf players like Wendie Clark.

I know he's not considered a "tough guy" more of a "pest" but god I love Darcy Tucker, he's my hero.

I guess you can tell im a leaf fan haha.

Darcy Tucker is a punk.

My favorite tough guy now is Donald Brashear. I know some people get on him because he likes to grab on, but if you look at his strategy it's actually pretty creative. His whole strategy is to hold you as close as possible so that you can't land any quality shots on him, but he's so strong that he can pull away and just lather you with left hands. I've also seen him just lay back and throw em and the guy is just a beast. So fucking strong and powerful. Marty McSorley is one of the best of all time, and there's a reason why he had to resort to using a stick across Donald's head. That reason is, he couldn't beat him with his fists. And that be the truth.

My all time favorite is the "Cheif" Craig Berube. He was just a wild man out there. Not the biggest guy out there at 6'2 210, but he'd go with ANYBODY. He's also the only guy I've ever seen that Bob Probert didn't beat. That says alot. Craig is pretty old school and likes to grab with one hand and wail away with the other. I've got a few of his fight tapes laying around. Very good fighter, and had one of the fastest right hands in the late 80's.

Tony Twist also gets a nod from me, and I've got a Twist jersey in my collection. I get more compliments on that one then any of my other jersey's. That guy would literally snap on the ice and there would be nobody that could stop him.

I'm a fan of Brad May...even before his Canuck days, he was just a wrecking ball with the Buffalo Sabres. And he can still dance with some of the big goons in today's league.

Big Fan of Berube, Brashear, Oglethorpe, and any of the Broad St. Bullies. But my favorite tough guy who was known more for his temper, but when he did fight kicked ass is Hextall. That man was nuts.

Brad is a pretty good fighter. He aint up there with the best, but he's game that's for sure. The Sabres had a few goons that could throw em back then.

Yea Hexy could throw em. One guy that hardly gets mentioned in the best all time is Dave Brown who played for the Flyers. He was a beast. And Troy Crowder was fucking great too.

what about Georges Laraque, he's beat-up almost everyone on this thread, some very badly. I think the toughest fight he had was with Probert and that was a draw. Everyone is scared of this guy and won't fight him anymore.

He hasn't beat up Brashear, and that's the one fight I wanna see in the worst way. IMHO, Brash and George are the two best in the NHL. Brash beat up George pretty good early in George's career. So I'd love to see those two go at it now.

I was disappointed when the Flyers played the Blue Jackets because Jody wanted no part of Brashear. It would have been a good one too. Jody was leading the league in fights at the time. I have no clue why they didn't go at it.
