View Full Version : Question For Traders???

I'm hoping to dip my toes in this trading thing fairly soon, and I have a question for those who've done it before. Are most traders of CDrs fanatical about the artwork (front cover, back cover). I can now burn discs, but my only access to the covers is from printing them off of the VHBoots site. And I have a very low-end printer. I'm hoping that there are traders out there who just trade the discs without worrying about the inserts. Am I dreaming? Thanks.

Your not dreaming. I would say half the traders I have come across don't need the artwork and only want the setlist. Others would like the artwork if you have it but if you don't that's fine for them.

I tend to print out high quality inkjet prints with my Espon printer, as long as the quality of the artwork is decent.

Then again I can always make my own. Does that help?

Most people dont care as long as you are 'upfront' about it and let them know. lots are happier doing their own anyway from vhboots, so it shouldnt be a prob.

Burning high quality mp3's on a cd-r is a great way to archive. Because collections can grow and grow. Look at mine, I have to rent out a house just for my collection (j/k)

Glenn,

Most people I've traded with are much more interested in the music than the packaging. I never send hard copies of artwork - if I have scans I'll email them and with VH I just use vhboots.com and print out my own copies if I can be bothered. Personally I think trading is more fun that way, it's just a hobby and a way to exchange cool music with other fans. Otherwise it can get too much like a business with all kinds of strict rules. The only 'rule' I really care about is DAO recordings (no 2 second gaps!)

If you (or anyone else) is interested in trading, my lists are at the url belowhttp://www.vhlinks.com/vhlforum/smilies/smile.gif
