Brian Young on Tour with David Lee Roth. Russ Parrish steps up to play the
part of Ed
Posted By: [The Band] on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2002 @ 1:39 AM
Almost everyone knows by now that Brian is David Lee Roth's new guitar
player. It is true and it is official. Brian's last show with the Atomic
Punks will be May 4th at the Whiskey. So please come out to celebrate with
us while we congratulate Brian and party at the Whiskey.
The Story:
When Brian first told us the news that he had got a call from David Lee Roth
to come down and try out for the guitar spot, our hearts sank to the ground.
We knew once David Lee Roth got to hear Brian play and get to know him, he
would hire him on the spot. Sure enough that is exactly what happened. At
first Brian was only going to be doing a few shows with David Lee. But as
soon as David Lee and Sammy became friends and decided to go and tour the
world together everything changed. Brian did not want to leave the band he
has been with for 3 years and we didn't want to lose one our best friends
and band mate. How can you turn down playing with the guy you are a tribute
to? You can't say no and you shouldn't. Touring the world is one thing, but
becoming rich and doing it with David Lee Roth is pretty fucking cool.
So now we have to find a guitar player to fill Brian's shoes.
Well, we didn't have to look far. Russ Parrish has been our bass player for
almost a year now. He really is a guitar player, he just learned how to play
the bass so he could jam with the Punks have fun and make money. So now we
are so please to officially announce:
Replacing Brian on guitar for the Atomic Punks will be
Russ Parrish
About Russ:
If you have ever seen Metalshop Russ plays the part of Rachette.
Russ played guitar for Rob Halford's first solo band "Fight." He also played
with Jeff Pilson from Dokken solo band called "War & Peace"
Russ was a student and a teacher at G.I.T.
He is a fun loving gifted guitar player and he is ready to show all our
friends out there how well he can do the part of Eddie Van Halen. This guy
is an amazing guitar player and is ready to step up to the plate and be our
new home run hitter.
Here is an interview with Russ from Metalsludge:

Joe from previous shows. Joe played all of our out of town shows until he
went on tour with Stevie Nick with his original band "California."
Now that Russ has moved back to guitar Joe is back to rock some VH with us!!
To all our friends out there please join us an come celebrate Van Halen with
the Punks!
