Does anybody know which guitar this is in this picture of Eddie? It's yellow, and has a very unusual body shape to it. The body is cut away so that all frets can be played with ease. In this magazine they feature Ed's guitars, but though this one is pictured here and on the cover, I don't see any mention of it. Any info would be appreciated.

I know I've read the story on that guitar before somewhere but can't remember where.

I know I read old interviews on that guitar, but I am drawing a blank.

It's not the explorer he cut up to get to the frets is it??

The one he cut up was the Shark guitar, wasn't it? In the cover picture of this magazine, the Shark is right next to this guitar that I'm talking about.

So are yall saying that the Shark is also the HYDRA? Also I've always wondered what album/or songs did Ed use the shark guitar on?

No the Shark and the Hydra are two completely different guitars. In issue #9 of the INSIDE there is a chart of the songs on the first three VH albums. It says that Ed used Shark on Runnin' With The Devil, You Really Got Me, Jaime's Cryin', Feel Your Love Tonight, On Fire, Dance the Night Away, Outta Love Again, Women In Love, and Fools.
