Default Any reason for the cancellations

Do we have any word on why the band has cancelled shows ? Did VH finally implode ?

My guess is that the entire band came down with the FLU and they are still going to tour.
Hearing rumors about Eddie and his drinking, lets hope that is not the reason.

its gotta be the weather.. i live in richmond Va about 45 minutes away from Charlottesville and its supposed to Rain and ICE today so im guessing this is the reason... Van Halen will not play to a half full arena... But about 15 of us were going to this show and we are all highly upset... we had coolers stocked and A Express Van, Hotel rooms etc.. but now we just have to wait and see this sucks... only good thing about this is that we can all start drinking now

I don't know... Why cancel Atlanta ? Everything would be fine weather wise for Monday.

weather is my guess, I live in cville. Albemarle schools were all closed today, there is a very tiny amount of freezing rain that stopped around 7am, I think there's supposed to be more ice/snow coming later today.???? From past experience the weather guys are about 25% right.... so not only am I totally crushed, my kids have to make up yet another day of school for seemingly no reason other than we "anticipate" bad weather. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

the notice posted on the VH News Desk said they'd have a re-sked date announced soon. Everyone is so quick to suggest the band has dismantled...brutal.

Given the band's history, it's not out of line to assume the worst case scenario. If the tour imploded because of drinking, drugs, fights between members, screwing someone's significant other, etc, could you honestly say you would be surprised?

Going by this band's track record, it's extremely possible it imploded.

Although I don't believe that's the reason.

Atlanta weather forecast for Monday is sunny and 60's.

But there have been blocks of really good side, lower level seats available through Ticketmaster for the Duluth show for the past couple of weeks. Still were this morning. Slow sales (especially in the wake of the sound debacle in Atlanta) could be a reason here.

I was thinking along these lines as well, maybe the cville venue wasn't "full enough" for them to bother???? I guess we'll wait and see?

I don't wish illness on anyone, but there could be an illness thing going on, lord knows the flu along the eastern seaboard is wicked right now, along with a nasty stomach bug.

I find it very interesting that Ed fell 2 days ago. Since I am not privy to his personal life I will make an observation - if he is taking meds to help him not drink it can cause vertigo, he may be sick, fever dizzy ect..., his other hip (or replaced hip) may be protesting those cute little kicks? Or hell he may just be getting old, grabbed the mic stand and wiped out. I am almost 40 and I am doing crap like that all the time.

As for knocking over those amps, who knows, maybe he was pissed at himself for falling, unhappy with the sound, guitar tech, he's sick feels like crap? Who knows.

I'm just hopeful for a reschedule, I really want to see them again this tour.

After viewing the youtube clip from Ft. Lauderdale (which included Ed throwing down his guitar and knocking over an amp upon exiting the stage) one can see why some were apt to draw this conclusion. Personally, I believe it is nothing, as Ed appears to be quite happy at the end.

I believe the reason is simple. Tonights show is postponed due to weather. Mondays show is also postponed probably because they figured that after Monday they had a 7 day break, so instead of sticking around the southern east coast for the weekend, why not just postpone and take a 10 day break. Let the trucks take their time getting through the storms and to Texas early.

It's funny, if you watch between Eds amps and Als drums right when the amps are knocked over you can see Wolfie running and then Ed is right behind him.
