Clearly Roth has no idea what the hell he is doing on the guitar. How fake does that look?

That's awesome lol. Thanks for posting it. It's harder and harder to see old clips you haven't seen b4 and I've never seen that one b4. That youtube poster has some great stuff on his channel.

lol you guys gotta put it into context. In the early 80's lip syncing to your music(badly) to promote yourself on shows was a common practice. They were often fake looking. Back then it was just cool to see the artist on tv.

By more modern standards of course it's ridiculous. For back then I think it's a cool and pretty rare clip of VH in the day. Why did Dave have a guitar? who knows. He actually can play one very well btw. Not a lead player but he knows how to play guitar. Still it is totally out of place for that tune but imo that kinda makes it all the cooler cause it's a rare novelty I've never seen b4.

There are quite a few wild videos like this from Europe and Japan from back then promoting their music but never seen one with Dave and a guit.

Look up some videos of the police from back then lip syncing on tv shows, they are just messed around most of the time. on this video it looks like dave can't even play guitar at all, he was probably like what can i even play to this? pretty funny! but yeah this is a very cool rare clip!
