Well there's no actual Van Halen (the band) news to report, but Eddie did make an impromptu guest appearance at the House of Petals in Hollywood on July 19th, and also contributed two songs to an upcoming high-budget porn flick.
Eddie took part in a garden concert at the House or Petals floral studio on Wednesday, July 19th without any members of Van Halen. He was accompanied by Patrick Leonard on keyboards. The invite-only audience included many celebrities, musicians, movie and TV stars. The performance was described was a "rock-fusion jam." In other news, Eddie also joined forces with adult film director Michael Ninn to write and perform two songs for the upcoming Ninn Worx feature, "Sacred Sin." Although several big-name rappers have contributed material to XXX movies before, Van Halen is probably the first major rock star to lend his name to an adult project. Eddie has said he is a close friend of the reknowned adult film director, and was contributing music as a favor.
The two EVH songs that will be included in the movie are "Rise" and "Catherine". There are also videos available for the songs in addition to the MP3's by going to the Sacred Sin web site and scrolling near the bottom of the page.
There are no rumblings of anything going on with Van Halen anytime soon, so take what you can get.
