Almost eight years after their well-documented, and highly-volatile split, Sammy Hagar has officially rejoined Van Halen, and the band will embark on a summer North American tour starting in June.
Talk of Sammy's return have been rumored for months, and when concert cities were released a few days ago for a Van Halen summer tour, it became appparent that an official announcement of who would be singing was imminent. Rumors even spread that both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar would be joining forces with VH for this tour, but today's announcement squashes that thought.
The band has listed 29 cities for the summer tour, which will start in Greensboro, NC on June 11. Presently, the last show is listed as August 19, at Staples Center, in Los Angeles. According to the official web site, dates are still subject to change.
It is not clear yet where you can purchase tickets for the show, but there are dates when they go on sale listed on the official site. When that information becomes available, we will get it to you. The first date to buy tickets for some shows is April 3.
So after a six-year hiatus, Van Halen is back and ready to rock a city near you this summer! Stay tuned for more details on Sammy's reunion with the band, we're sure more information will be coming out now. The floodgates have opened!
